A little blogger etiquette

Now, I generally do not have an issue with people using my photographs for their personal use, that is you save it on your desktop and stare at the costume all day or you might email your crew various shots so that you can have a cosutme consultation or you may even put the photographs up on a forum, all that is ok as the spirit of the internet is the sharing of free information. Hence the reason you do not see my web address watermarked on these photographs.

However, it is becoming a bit tiresome to see OTHER bloggers blatantly using the photographs I have laboured to take without even linking back to this blog or citing the source . Added to that some are now watermarking THEIR photographs while they brazenly have my photographs up alongside their own. If you have noticed I do not use other blogger's photographs with the exception of Afro Chic's from Kaotic's launch because we had an agreement and I had her permission to do so from before.

The only blogger I can recall who wrote me and asked permission VERY nicely was Caiso Queen. Putting "compliments Saucy" when you take blogger's photographs and use it on your blog, yet never sending an email asking if you can do so, is really not a courtesy if you are assuming it is ok :

If you are a blogger taking your own photos please do not use mine unless you have emailed me and asked permission to do ! I was really trying not to be a bitch about this whole thing because as I said I do believe in the spirit of the free information on the internet. But after seeing my articles copied wholesale and published on another blog the photographs are really starting to annoy me now.

So, I would hope that other bloggers will have a little blog etiquette and understand that you just do not go around using other people's information or photographs from their blog without getting some sort of permission from the blog author/owner to do so. If you do not have written permission from ANY blogger to use their photographs, please take them down or you know what to do.. drop them an email, it really isn't that hard to do and we do not bite!

You're 110% right and I think that was short, sweet (enough, considering the content) and to the point! You handled that with class.

Kudos to you!!!!!

It's terrible that people not appreciating the work you do..insulting.

I know you were thinking about it before, and it's quite the laborious task, but why don't you just put a website stamp on your pics?

I just saw your pics on another blog & the watermarked pics, steups, it's bad enough that other blogs practically copy & paste your posts word for word, but using your pics, so blatant - come on ppl, show some originality, or, leave it to Saucy.
