Persian Empire - The Karen Harts section

Each year Karen Hart produces a "budget" section for Harts, usually a simple costume option for an affordable price, in 2008 the prices were $1200 - $1300.00TT (F) and $1100.00 (M).

Carnival 2009 is no exception and here is the Karen Hart section for 2009; prices are approximately $1900.00 (F) and $1600.00 (M).

This section is a private option and will not be featured at the mas camp, if you are interested you can call or email Harts mas camp but be forewarned that Karen's section is one that sells out pretty quickly as she does have her following of loyal masqueraders!

I've seen costumes like the female costume on sale in the mall kiosks :)

Kudos to Karen, for keeping just a basic idea of pure fun for her masqueraders.

The information about this section is just another proof positive, and I have observed over the years, that Harts is one of the tightest, fun camaraderie, intergenerational sexy (women), BANDs on the road.

A cohesive BAND, on the road, is always an important concept for me. It is one of the reasons I appreciate Trini Revellers (though I may never play with them.) I see practically all the bikini mas bands (Harts the noted exception) as too fragmented on the road. TRIBE's first year achieved that togetherness without even trying. And I was quite surprised, from my brief observation that Ronnie and Caro, this year, did seem to have a tight band, having a ball, up until late into the proceedings.

I would have to agree I love the fact that they produce a budget section. It shows they care about their masqueraders. Every band should adopt this. I played with them last year and I could tell most of the folks in that band have $$$$.. I think in future years I will play with them again. My costume (Apocalypto) was well designed AND they made adjustments to the belt! FANTASTIC customer service. They had an entire window just designated for costume adjustments. I think Harts is one of the most underrated bands out there. And yes most of the folks were white but who cares.. I live and work in Manhattan it don't bother me and everyone was nice to my husband and I. A little reserved at first but once the rum start hitting everyone's head they were getting on bad..
