Websites are up!!

Two band launches passed last weekend which I missed out on, however both websites are up for your perusal.

First off is Trevor Wallace Mas with their 2009 presentation "Dance Yuh Dance", costumes designed by Richard and Anthony productions. You can view he sections on the website here.

Pluse 8's website for "Hot, Hot,Hot" is also up,m running and ready for registration, though I cannot figure out if the backpack option is an individual (as per the website) meaning ONE only or a frontline since you are allowed to register for that option.

And finally HARTS website is up.. with three sections SOLD OUT.

Harts' website is up but they do not have an option for online registration as far as I can tell. I have a questions for the Harts loyalists -- does anyone know how their online registration usually works? Thanks,

Newbie ;)

There is a blog post somewhere in here explaining the connection lines of some bikini mas bands. It's nice to see Pulse 8, a Poison lineage, stepping up and taking their place as one of the premier fun bands in Port of Spain. From my observations on the road for the past two years, the band seemed to just hanging on to stay in the game, imho. There is now a certainity to their presentation (the new website is a clue to me...this year's for 2k8 was nice too), that they will really deliver the zesty hotness, fun. The gold standard for how a band should look on the road is Harts (not "lightness" folks, ok... no accusations please), because they always seem to having collective fun as a singular BAND while moving down d' road, not just a few pockets here and there in lil clusters getting on. I was always amazed by Legends singular unity as well, but that was more a "military" precision...get in yuh section ;)

Hot, Hot, Hot feeling like Carnival already!

I don't know whether Harts is planning to add registration functionality to their website this year. They have had it in the past, but I've usually found the interface (along with most others I have examined) to be rather buggy and somewhat problematic, so I prefer to register either by fax, or by phone.

Here is the info you will need to submit:

Bra size (38D, 34C, etc.), panty size (S,M,L,XL etc.), waistband size (measure where you want the waistband to sit), headpiece option (the smaller headpieces are not displayed on the site but usually consist of a beaded headband, sometimes with feather embellishments OR a metal tiara with bead embellishments, like in Lord of the Rings).

Other options I've seen in the past include one piece, one piece with side cut-outs, tankini, low-rise, mid-rise or high-rise panty, as well as capes and panel skirts available on some designs)

Shorts (S,M,L,XL etc.)
Waistband measurement
Chest measurement (they might need this in the case of a breastplate or bolero-style top)

Remember that Harts is NOT all-inclusive, so unless you plan to carry or buy your own refreshments you should join one of the private carts, or join the Harts band cart. Cart prices will most probably be determined after the government's budget is announced later this year.

Also, the Wee-Wee truck is not included in costume cost. The price usually hovers around TT$100 for the two days and you can purchase a wristband during the costume collection period.

I hope I haven't forgotten anything. You can always call the mas' camp if you have any other questions and they can help you get things sorted out.
