With this lull between TRIBE's launch and actual registration I am getting somewhat bored with looking at photos of the costumes over and over. By now I have settled on a possible costume choice but I am also thinking of alternatives. Harts costumes are now starting to look quite appealing, believe it or not, especially since I have no idea what the exact price TRIBE will be calling for my section and Harts' prices are quite reasonable.

I am also waiting on Island People's launch on Sunday, I keep hearing over and over how gorgeous the costumes are and I am excited to see them myself. Honestly, if their costumes do meet and surpass my expectations I might seriously consider playing with them for 2007. Now I have said before that costume will not be my only criteria for choosing a band and I still stand by that. When it comes to service TRIBE excels at that and they answered their critics this year with an almost flawless onroad experience for their masqueraders.

Island People had some challenges this year, most notably with costume distribution and some unlucky masqueraders never received their full costume at all. I also had issues with the bras, now I have an ample bosom and I am very picky about my bra as I have had trouble getting a good fit in the past. I like that with TRIBE you are able to size your bra, trying on samples at the mas camp and this year they were even willing to give me a custom size since my section Tales of Benguela was the one with the infamous size restriction.

When I visited Island People's mas camp to check out their costumes last year, the person who I spoke with was not very accomodating to requests such as getting a particular size and having a regular bra instead of the ones with the double straps on the side that never fit bigger breasts properly. That turned me off since I was not willing to pay so much money for a costume and still have to get the bra altered on my own.

I expect that Island People will learn from their mistakes this year and offer a good experience for 2007. The one positive thing that was expressed from most people who played with them this year is the fun that they had on both Monday and Tuesday.

So I am waiting paitently to see Island People's costumes, waiting paitently for prices from TRIBE, waiting for Harts website and waiting to see what level of service I will get from Island People's camp this time around.

OK … So All'ya ready???

The following is an email I got from Island People yesterday,I find they were very nice to send me an email even though I did not play with them this year.
