Congratulations to CFA's Caribbeans Best Makeup Artist 2010, Kirk Thomas

I have to say a very special Congratulations to Kirk Thomas for being awarded CFA's Caribbean's Best Makeup Artist for 2010. Kirk has been doing my Carnival makeup for the past two years and I think he always does an awesome job, so much so that I book him on Ash Wednesday for the following year!  Next year  I am booked for Monday and Tuesday and I am looking forward to his warrior inspired looks. I am very happy to see him being recognized for his talent!

So, I Got My Boots

I finally got my boots in hand this week and  have been wearing  them each day to test the height out. At 3 inches, 1 inch more than my Tuesday boots this year, I was a bit apprehensive to purchase these boots worried that the heel would be too high. I have to say the heel actually looks higher in the pictures than it looks and feels on me:

Boots On The Model

Boots On Me

Surprisingly from the moment I put these boots on I did not feel as if were three inches off the ground, they are in fact pretty comfortable and there is no arch of calf strain. I would definitely get the insoles for heels and boots for additional comfort, but I am really liking that my arches feel supported more so than in flat boots. And although these boots look snug on the model they are a bit slouchy on me; maybe I can add some lacing up the back because I do prefer it fitted.

Initial review on these boots are height is not an issue, comfortable fit, no problems walking, running or jumping with the heel as it is rubber and not hard or stiff. A little slouch, but it can fold down to make the boot knee high which I am thinking I prefer to over the knee for Tuesday; it will match my costume better.

And if you were thinking of getting these boots, sorry, they are SOLD OUT online! Still looking for boots? Check out Go Jane today, they are having a boot sale.
