Post Band Launch Updates.. Again!

One day after Harts opened for registration and they have a sold out section:

Which leads me to ask, anyone taking bets on how long it takes Yuma Vibe , Spice Carnival, Island People Mas, Harts Carnival, Bliss Carnival and TRIBE Carnival to sell out this year? What band are you jumping with and have you jumped ship?

Spice registration is set to begin on Wednesday and I guess you will have to wait until then to see prices as their website will also launch at the same time:

Our Band House will officially be open for viewing and registration on Wednesday 25th August, 2010. Opening hours will be Monday to Friday 12 noon to 6 pm and on Saturdays from 1pm to 6pm. Our new Band House is located on the Corner of Rust and Gray Streets in St. Clair.

Online registration will also commence on Wednesday 25th August, 2010 on our website www.spicecarnivalband.com. A full list of prices will be available at our Band House and on our website from Wednesday.

Speaking of websites, YUMA's is still offline.* While I think their website is cool, 360 views and all, website developers should know that we masqueraders are pretty easy to please and simple websites are GREAT. All we require are close up shots of the costumes showing detail and where the colour is not manipulated. Who needs to wait for pictures and video to load just to see a teeny shot of a costume? I don't know why the trend is for all these flash websites that are cool for the web developer and hard for the average user  to navigate!
* edited to add, for those of you getting YUMA's website as offline, clear your cache and it becomes visible again.

My sources also told me that YUMA's individual costumes range between $12,000 to $15,000TT and the higher prices range is owing to the VIP service and rumoured FLOAT that is going to be for Individuals Only! Reminds me of the Spice VIP section that bombed before it hit the road, I am rooting for YUMA to pull this off, I have never seen a float on the road in Trinidad during my Carnival era!

And one more YUMA tidbit of information, who knew that not only does YUMA have a registration committee they are also following other band's footsteps and having committee registration as well. If you have your eye on a certain frontline costume I suggest you start looking for your links right now! Public registration is also rumoured to begin on WEDNESDAY. You go YUMA, I think you are working damn hard to sell your band and I hope you do sell out.

Oasis Carnival.... have you flat lined?

TRIBE and Bliss are UNUSUALLY quiet..hmmmm...August 28th and 29th soon come!

Dream Team launched last night and Showtime Mas launches tonight, since none of the Blogerati were invited to either Dream Team or Showtime's launch I look forward to viewing photos of costumes, or their website, which ever comes first!
