Scam On Fineahban - Beware

Hi Saucy,
I have a piece of investigative journalism for you.

I saw an ad on fineahban.com selling a male Tribe costume size 42. So I wrote to the person to inquire about it. The person told me he was selling it for $2000 with the balance due to the mas camp. He claimed to be out of the country and so his cousin in St. Joseph would be conducting the transaction. I agreed to take the costume and he gave me the cousin's phone number to make arrangements to meet.

At first when I called the number I got a message saying that the phone was either switched off or out of the country. I tried the number for several hours and kept getting this response. I emailed the man to let him know and he told me he'd try to contact the cousin and get back to me. Later that night (Saturday) he told me that the cousin was in a very important function and had it off.

I called back the cousin and we made arrangements to meet today (Monday) so I could pay her.

However, I kept getting a bad vibe about this. So I had my friend email the man yesterday inquiring about the costume. He told her it was still available (even though I have arrangements to meet the cousin tomorrow) and he was selling it for $2400. She expressed interest and he told her that she would have to meet his cousin in either Mt Hope or at La Joya in St. Joseph which she agreed to.

I was in disbelief that I was being scammed and thought maybe he's just trying to see if he could get a higher price. So, I created a fake email account and emailed the guy expressing interest. He again said that the costume was still available and quoted the $2400 price. I told him I'd take it and he told me I'd have to meet his cousin in either Mt Hope or St Joseph. I told him I'd meet his cousin in St Joseph and he took me name so he could do the letter authorizing me to collect it.

So as of right now, he has 3 buyers for the same costume.

Maybe there's a reasonable explanation (I doubt) but I thought I should report this to you before he pulls this on any other unsuspecting people.

You can see the ad on fineahban.com.

Thanks!
