Carnival Preparations

With 18 days and counting before the "greatest show on earth" is unleashed for 2007, work is taking place around the Savannah at a hectic pace. Gone are the North and Grand Stands this year, this is now what remains:

The photo above also shows the layout for Panorama Semifinals on Sunday, with the low white fenced area being the infamous "North Ground".

Vendors booths are now decorated with a new logo and though diminished in numbers there are still several located along the parade route:

The Police Post is up, facing Memorial Park:

Here is where the bands will parade before the judges who will be accommodated under this tent right in front of the tennis courts at Princess Building Grounds:

Obliquely opposite is the VIP stand:

Regular patrons looking for a seat will be seated on these stands that line either side of the Parade route up until Victoria Avenue, they are not completed as yet, hence the missing seats:

I must say the proximity to the masqueraders and spectators will be MUCH closer than when they were seated in the Grand Stand and North Stands; these stands put them in a viewing range to inspect every costume as it passes by. Prime viewing seats for sure!

Boots by Jomo

These are boots that were made by Jomo on Piccadily Street for one of the bloggers. She made her order last Thursday and picked them up yesterday at a cost of $130.00. As you can see they are plain silver so you can decorate them as you wish. And most importantly the blogger is quite happy with how they look and feel.

Thanks to "no longer anon" for sharing her pics!
