Island People Shades of The Universe Sneak Peek

The year is 2014, the earth has been destroyed by the hands of its inhabitants...mankind. One tiny island on the earth where carnival was the one activity that took them away from the troubled and depressing strains of their reality is also destroyed. However, the story does not end there, thanks to the brilliance of one gifted scientist, who in his wisdom saw the destruction coming, assembled a team to create costume designs to withstand the test of time and launched them into space in special pods into...the universe.

His hope was that one day the costumes would be discovered by other life forms and if by chance any one man or thing survived the destruction, they would one day relive and restore what we knew as Carnival. This costume is just a preview of what designs were discovered. To see what other designs are revealed patrons will have to go to the

Islandpeople Mas Carnival 2011 presentation, 'Shades of the Universe.

YUMA Prices

Thanks to Carnival Jumbie for making the trip to the opening YUMA's mas camp today like a real Blogeratti trooper! I am under the weather and Afro Chic is otherwise engaged.

So check out Carnival Jumbie's blog  HERE as well as her mas camp photos which are AWESOME HERE.

* Edited to add that the price for both Taurus and  Oracle backpack was adjusted DOWN from $1500.00 to $1200.00 AFTER Carnival Jumbie's visit to the mas camp where she got the prices from staff at the mas camp.

The impression given by YUMA on their Facebook Fan Page by stating this
All male costumes are $2790. Note the correct pricing for backpacks above. YUMA as promised gave you the OFFICIAL info first via the FB page. Cool as usual!
Was NOT cool at all. A simple apology for posting the wrong prices at the mas camp would have gone over better than make it seem like Carnival Jumbie pulled the prices out of a hat, especially when YUMA officials were linking to her blog FIRST

If the fact is that we are going to be discredited for using information GIVEN to use by YUMA Officials at the mas camp post visit then it is best we don't visit at all and you guys wait for the OFFICIAL prices to be posted via YUMA's social media.

At the end of the day this is not about giving exposure to a Carnival Band it is about giving YOU the masqueraders eagerly awaiting the information the breaking news as we get it and we do try our best to be ACCURATE with the "official" information that we publish. Not cool at all!
