It's Carnival!!!!!

You are probably wondering why on earth I am up at 3:00AM right? Well, I leave home in an HOUR to get my makeup done at 5:30am so I am getting everything organized before I leave home. I am so ready, if I was anymore ready it would be Carnival 2010!

So, yesterday on the road was nice! The band is once again MASSIVE, we were at times in the front and back of TRIBE and it just felt like masses of people. Not too bad yesterday as the band did keep moving, however expect the numbers to increase today.

The President Max Richards and entourage were on the road in full force, so too were the other Government Ministers; of course getting to the front of the band through the entourage proved to be trying for some masqueraders as they were told to go AROUND the President and his security team.

Popular choice for Road March from masqueraders is "Tusty" by Blaxx, this was the song masqueraders demanded when crossing the stage, however the Soca Mafia has already decided that we are crossing to Faye Ann Lyons "Meet Superblue"!. Destra was trying to rally support for "Bacchanal" as she made a guest appearance on the Red 96.7 truck..it was hilarious that soon as she performed the D.J.s launched into... "Meet Superblue"!

And finally, although I awoke to brilliant sunshine yesterday I arrived into Port of Spain to meet the band under rain clouds. As we parked it sprinkled and then the sun played hide and seek until we reached the Savannah where the rains came and wet us down! The rain just amped everyone up for crossing the "stage"however the sun came out in full blast later . The only other time we got a slight sprinkle was at lunch. Kudos to TRIBE for doing umbrellas and tents with a proper plastic area on the ground on the lunch stop so no one had to sit on the soggy ground (in the event that the ground was soggy).

So, as I go back to my preparations I wish everyone a SAFE and enjoyable Carnival. If you want to see streaming Carnival Action check out the folks at Ctnt World by clicking HERE.
