Island People's website is up..well almost

It appears since I posted the photos last night they have launched the website this morning, however, before you go racing over to register that part is not functional as yet but you can still read all the registration information (which if you visit this blog you already know).

Good job Island People, allyuh wukking!

And in other news Sonia Mack's website is coming soon:

Good news for those waiting to register with TRIBE!!

Ok, I know everyone who is counting down to Saturday are thinking that they may not get into their first choice sections, have no fear there is still hope!

Even though Warrior Spirit, Dragon, Jab Jab Orange and Jamette Corsette are sold out I was informed that this week the officials at TRIBE will be taking stock of which are the more popular sections and increasing the number of spaces for masqueraders, so if they were only catering for 300 people per section they might increase it by another 25 (I am just using those figures as an example eh!)

Consequently the less popular sections will be decreased in number so the band remains the same size, but who cares right! I think that's an awesome move since they are really thinking of trying to please masqueraders registering for the first time, offering them the opportunity to get into the section of their choice instead of settling for a costume they may not like that much and for that they should be commended. Smart move!

For the Guys

Raiders of the Desert

Oasis

Sahara Sunset

Tuareg

Mirage

Sacred Sand

Sirocco Winds

Nubians

Arabian Nights

Le Soleil Brule

Goddess and Defenders

Jewel of the Nile

Full payment due , are you ready ?

I have heard that foreign masqueraders still waiting on Island People will have a chance to register online in the near future.

My sources have indicated that on-line registration will be made available to persons NOT residing in Trinidad ONLY. The one caveat is your costume must be paid for in full, and if you were thinking of using that good old trusty credit card, think again, payments will have to be made using cash. Payment details will be revealed when the website is up and running but I would advise those of you still lusting after those costumes to have your business in order before you are caught unawares.

You might still have a chance to get into your section of choice as persons who called the mas camp were advised that costumes were supposedly reserved for online registration and the sections that are SOLD OUT are sold out for in-house registration only.

I know many of you have given up on Island People, but at least they are making some sort of effort to accommodate foreign based masqueraders after what I can only imagine was a flood of complaints after the surprise registration was revealed on Friday.

So, make sure and have your FULL PAYMENT on hand soon and don't say you were not warned!
