FireMan....definitely....
u know tribe's signature costume is fancy indian...so they will bring it back again in 2yrs....but when else will you get to be a fire girl.
and it's soo hottt! that red is popping...and the cap is soooooooo cute!
Fireman is my top pic bet. these 2 costumes. You will more than likely be able to play Fancy Indian another yeat. But that Fireman is on FIRE!!!!!!
This section remains my #2 pick, the detailing is just fabulous.
I know they might re-do the Fancy Indian in the future but I like this Warrior version too bad!Fireman is my #1 though.
Its beautiful to look at, but, How do you dance with a man behind you with those feathers sticking out like that?
there is another version anonymous with a smaller headpiece....the only man dancing with me is my husband ...ahm he go wine infront.....or I will bend over so the feathers would not be in his face...or I will turn meh head to the side...LMAO!!!
I like how you does tink...
Warrior Spirit! Cause I can rock my head piece in the stadium next time the Soca Warrior playing.....and I would do it to, don't think I won't.
same ting I am saying, that headpiece will def. get used again after carnival to support my Soca Warriors.
Fireman definitely, but how many
players will wear the full costume...my take..if yuh playing tribe this year...wear all yuh costume..
Fireman, but how many players will wear the full costume..If yuh really want to play ole time mas in Tribe..wear the full costume..
Oh if I am playing in Fireman I will wear everything, tout bagi! My friend, who is playing with Sailor, already say she is cutting off the fingers on her gloves and decorating them with sequins and jewels! I find that is a nice idea so I tiefing it. My husband wants the traditional mas, he likes Fancy Indian and the traditional Cow Mas with the bag and strips of cloth, he also likes Pierrot Grenade but finds it is too pretty.I like the tradtional Fireman and Sailor for men.
I love Fireman. That's my choice! I love the color, the detailing, the "cane" EVERYTHING. Like the others said, Fancy Indian will be revisted again but how often does the "FireFighter" come up.
I just got an email from Tribe saying they coming out with their prices tonight...this is an email from the mas camp so I don't know how reliable that is????
Well I ent get that email yet, but I called the mas camp this morning to find out when the prices will be up and they said Friday. Like they read meh blog and decide to gurry up with dem prices!!! LOL
LOVE YOUR BLOG!!. And thanks for keeping all of us trinis in cyberspace and beyond updated on the going-ons of band launchings, costumes and what not. Instead of simply checking the various websites for prices and costume pictures, I just type in your blog address (which I know by heart, sweetheart) and have been spreading it like wildfire to all who can hear!!
Tanks Dahling from a trini in NYC
Be it tonight or Friday I can't wait to see how much I have to shell out for to play my FIREMAN - err - Person. lol
i'm closing my eyes at the prices...my aunt whose been in bands like barborassa, minshall to name a few said....doh look at the price...when it come to mas...nothing is too expensive....
Saucy,,did I read u right about you and your hus playing mas together, I am trying it for 2K7,,he never play mas before. Bringing him on de road to jump up with me and de girls,,an experiment of sorts,,this topic could start a whole new thread eh?...I'll let you know how it goes but of course any advice is welcome. We done discuss all the (his) rules etc etc but, if he play heself and spoil my fun I leaving him home in 2K8!!!
LOL, Nicky what rules does he have for you and what prompted him to play mas for 2k7? My husband and I will be playing mas together, most likely not in the same section. The only "rule" I have is that I don't let male "friends" who see me on the road take a wine, they have to respect that I am with my hubby and not use Carnival as an excuse to wine up on me inappropiately.Other than that my husband is free to roam the band, chat with friends(and vice versa), he must give me my space and time with my girlfriends, not stick up under me whole day (take a lime with his boys) and he must not get drunk since he is the designated driver!
LOL well hubby & I are playin in the same section - he won't have it any other way! He don't care if he don't like the male costume for the section I choose (cause u know where we play is MY decision LOL) he say he wants us to play together in the same section. Fine w/ me - I love having a permanent winin partner. We never had any weird issues on the road at all (except the 1 year our stalker happened to be in our section!) I love it - anything I need to carry on the road goes right into his Tribe backpack that stays on his back instead of mine :)
oops saucy I forget to give u my opinion on yuh choices! I understand why people who didn't get the chance to play Tribe's fancy indian in 2k4 wanna grab that opportunity & play it now. BUT that fire man is tooo hot for words - LOVE it! I think there will be more opportunities to play Tribe's fancy indian sometime in the future. You may never get the chance to be a sexy fireman again -go for it :)
amprincess I forget that part, the husband also double as the carry-all, mine has to carry all my stuff too ha ha!Well he is adamant that he wants to play a traditional character and he does not mind NOT being in the same section as me.I not saying a thing since he says is his choice too just like how I am stressing over which costume to choose.I swer, the man learning from me, he turning into a divo!
Well i ent married so I can't give an opinion on the hubby thing..lol. but my boifriend doesn't play at all and i cool with that!!, it gives me that space i need to socialize with my girls. I don't carry much things on the road either... so i don't need a bell boy. I like the warrior sprit it was my 1st choice since i saw all the custumes: the belt is skimpy and that is my number one belt criteria..lol. U seemed to have made up ur mind on tribe , i on the other hand still having some dissonance.
Yup Kevian I decided to go with Tribe.IP's costumes tempted me for a day or so, but the more I looked at the costumes the more I was able to whittle them down to only a few choices; Oasis, Nubians and possibly Sacred Sand though I don't like the halter bra.Comparing those to Fireman I think they are on par, and not only that, like I said I can always play in that type of costume another year and I look for more than just costume when it comes to choosing a band.
The other thing is that I am comfortable with what I will be getting from Tribe, very comfortable in fact. I am unsure of IP and I am not willing to put out the type of money to play mas with a band I am not 100% sure of.I am not doubting that they will have a great time on the road, I just don't want to have to go ballistic on anyone's ass when it comes to the costume, because if I was going with IP the costume would be the ONLY thing to make me switch and if that is sub par, well I will feel like a fool for giving up my spot in Tribe to be disappointed in the costume.
Which brings me to my last point, that TLC card and the guarantee that I can get to register first with Tribe has me hook line and sinker. Now that I have it I don't feel like going through any drama to register with IP.
So those are my reasons for choosing Tribe over IP. I am not a Tribe loyalist or fanatic, in fact I am trying to help some friends of mine register in IP because they want to play in Goddess or Sacred Sand, it's just a personal choice for me.
LOL saucy yuh hubby is a divo LOL!! Mine wants no part of the decision making process at all - he ent have the patience to scrutinize every detail of each section the way I do. I love that he trusts my judgment :) Although the section we are playin in is not 1 of my faves for the men - I tried to get him to consider playin in different sections but he not having it! lawd he stubborn!
damn I need yuh help saucy. I thought I had finally decided on a section - I haven't changed my mind in about 1 week LOL. But I was just studying the costumes AGAIN on Tribe's site & I think I changed my mind :(
I need to hear yuh opinions on my 2 choices but I don't wanna publicly state which sections I am considering (yes I paranoid LOL). Are u on msn im?
amp I am on msn, send me an email at trinicarnivaldiary@yahoo.com and I will add you.
ok sent it, thanks!
amprincess I eh get nuttin yet.....send it again.
