I must say that IP costumes are beautiful. But a beautiful costume is not a guarantee that Carnival Monday and Tuesday will be "orgasmic"(as another blogger said earlier). I am living in New York and find IP's customer service to be disgusting. I questioned playing in IP this year because many people was still trying to get pieces of their costume on Sunday night this past year. My friends have always played with TRIBE and now I see why. I have never played with TRIBE but have received emails regularly regarding the registration process. So although I do not have a TLC, I will do my best on Saturday to get into either Dragon, Dame Lorraine, Fancy Indian, or Fireman. I am more concerned about my time on de road Monday and Tuesday and from what I hear Tribe really knows how to treat their masqueraders. I hope that all IP followers enjoy their Carnival experience from here on in. IP "foreigners", I don't know how allya could still even consider giving these people your money. IP is basically telling you that they don't respect you (why do you have to pay for your costume in full?)
All in all, each to their own! A beautiful costume is only one part of the carnival experience.
Saucy,
Nah boy!! I feel you KGB or something yuh know. Yuh pull off ah undercover, G-14 Classified mission. HOW THE RASS??!! Ooops! I forget you said don't ask 'how' :)
I really love Nubians with the big head piece....WOW!! I could rock that headpiece. Anybody want to a Warrior Spirit costume....PSYCH!!! Not me! And call me wierd but I feelin' Sirocco Winds too.
The costumes really are stunning though, I give IP that.
Here's hoping they can deliver on everything else for all those people who are entrusting their Carnival 2K7 to them.
Thanks Saucy, yuh making me want Carnival to hurry up and reach. I'm so ready!!
Good night!!
Oh Gawwd them costumes hot hot hot no wonder 5 sections sold out. Ah tempted to play with them cause carnival to me is costume, costume, costume. But ah fraid with all that disorganziation and terrible treatment to the overseas people and everything else....ah mean Tribe have they ways that I personally experience but....at least ah could say i enjoyed 06 the on de road experience and I know what i am getting with them come monday and tuesday.
Luv IP costumes.
"Look the bands coming"
what di rass! dred, like this blog is IP website. rel folly I see goin on here with IP..jah kno! gorgeous costumes!
Saucy girl...we can't deny the beauty of the costumes, they were bound to be sold out sections (though I thought it would have been sooner than later..)
...but we can't deny customer service sensitivity training. IP has NONE. People, please remember we not paying only for a costume...we paying for a full package, an EXPERIENCE...can IP's costume design make up for poor, distasteful organizational skills and overseas masqueraders discontent and disrespect? Just pondering the FACTS..
Cheers!
Oh gosh saucy, you hurting my heart...Their costumes are sooooooooo gorgeous. I mean beautiful. I was one of the ones bashing their disorganization and I still sticking to my gun but geez and ages, seeing the costumes have my head spinning. I loooove them too bad. Some that I didnt too care about looking so good now. Even the photography is great.See with Tribe I didnt have a clear favorite...it was hard to decide cause let's face it, they cah design like IP designers, even based on this year's presentation and so it was just hard to pick one I liked. Im in Dragon but I still not loving it..just the skimpiest which is what I like...To tell you how nice their costumes are, I even liking that dark costume Saraha Jumbie, not that I would play in it but it's so effective. Loving Jewel of course, although I could see how some say it cosquel...likin the Arabian nights gold and green, Goddess and Defender, Le Soleil (second and third one), even Sahara looking like nice clsoe up, whatever they use for the bra piece..lawd, if Tribe was bringing out these, I would have had the meh head going mad cause I see 4, 5..no 6 clear favorites in IP costumes but as you posted my favs like Jewel and Oasis sell out so I would have been screwed waiting to register. I wish they could get their stuff together for next year cause if Tribe doh improve on their designs, sad to say but I might switch and try out IP
WOW! Island People costumes are really beautiful!! Hot Damn!!
They can take props for a great photoshoot too!!
Ah still sticking with Tribe tho.. Can't tek the bad treatment.. Saucy ah feel you is wid di GB boys yes *wink*
but .. allyuh see the Goddess and Defenders?? Mi a mad fi wear dat a street!! oh lorsh!!
2 thumbs up on the pics Saucy.....I aint asking who,how or wher? lol. IP's cosutmes are gorgeous but I must agree with what everyone says about their terrible customer service. I am already registered with Tibe and am VERY happy with my choice but I do hope that IP gets their act together soon. As much as I love Tribe I would like to play in IP one year but it won't be just because the costume looks pretty.
Well so far we all liking IP costumes and we all agree that they need to improve on customer service but fur real I could see I giving somebody my deposit in Tribe and switching to IP just cause them costumes nice too bad. As Anonymous said..."I didnt have a clear favorite...it was hard to decide cause let's face it, they (Tribe) cah design like IP designer."
One look at IP and yuh excited, well I am excited, yuh going crazy all the sections amazing and looking gorgeous and beautiful. For me that's the excitement in carnival, feeling the rush of having a great costume.
New York
Saucy I have been hearing rumors that Genesis(Ian) have a section in IP. You hearing anything like that?
first I am hearing of that rumour!
If there was a way to combine IP costumes and Tribe Service...yuh get de perfect man yes!
Takes my breath away every time... IP won the Academy Award, Grammy and Emmy for best costumes of the year for 2007! If I were playing in IP I would definitely choose Sahara Jumbie or Nubians... Did you see Nubians headpiece!! ohh ggoooooood...nice fuh soo! But hear nah... allll of their costumes nice! Dayyuumm...
Sauce, I not really a backpack girl but you eh find the backpack for Jumbie is gorgeous!? There's no denying the costumes are lovely but I can't part with £300 plus and not be sure if I will have my costume to play in Carnival Monday and Tuesday. Not to mention the fact that the only place I can to see the costumes is on your or other unofficial sites.
well I must be the ONLY woman in the world NOT feeling that mohawk headpiece for Nubians LOL. I have hated the look of mohawks since I was a child & still hate it. That is 1 headpiece I would turn my nose up at for sure LOL.
The only costume I can honestly say I LOVE for IP is that Arabian Nights w/ the veil. I find alot of the beads/stones they using on the other costumes to look cheap & coskel. And some of the headpieces & backpacks are looking rather skimpy - I think they should be fuller. Allyuh that would play in that Goddess costume w/ the brazilian bra real brave - to me that looking like a stripper went shopping in Victoria's Secret LMAO. And wouldn't that contraption be painful to wear for 12+ hours????????
Hottie Hottie I love the backpack! I am also amazed how those photos make the costume look much better, I am digging the black but reality is that it will be too bloddy HOT!
The feathers are perfect! That lovely glossiness - almost like a chicken's feather - just adds to it. Anything else wouldn't have done it justice. Gorgeous
I've played in black before and it wasn't bad at all you know. I just won't want any black mask on my face! I LOVE Nubians even more now but not so much Taureg. This is why photos need to be online! You know, I not feeling any of those Arabian costumes at all. I just find it's all been doen in some form or the other for a while now and these designs aren't extra special. Now nobody jump down meh throat please! Raiders is very cute but I not playing mas in brown cotton. If, however, I was a man, that would be my section. If I cared about costume that is :) Sauce, Tribe bras are like normal bras? They're adjustable etc?
Yes Hottie, some of the sections, including Dragon, used a normal bra which is adjustable.
I like Nubians headpiece but not too sure how it will hold up in the wind or how comfortable it is.I don't like the back of Jewel of the Nile I find the panty too exposed.LOVE Oasis of course and Sacred Sand but you know I prefer the small headpiece on Sacred Sand, go figure!Oh, and I amliking Turaeg now, the colours pretty ! And I like the Arabian dancer with the Big headpiece.
The colours pretty but I don't like the headpiece. The cloth for Sirocco looks a bit confusing and I don't like teh headpiece. I LOVE the corbeau costume and Nubians. Goddess is still nice but not as WOW as at the launch. The Soleil costumes are all very nice - I wasn't sure about the helmetty one from the launch photos. And I wasn't feeling sand before but it's nice now. You know, I not feeling Oasis as much now! I find is too much cloth for me - how I kinda small now, I feel I will lose in it!
Hottie, you on target with me. I not feeling Oasis anymore either. I also like the skimpier costumes and therefore love the back of Jewel of the Nile but tsk tsk...only dreamin now..I sign up in Tribe already so let me focus on meh costume - Dragon, Dragon, Dragon...you love Dragon.
2008 IP, get yourself in check
But what is this!! Morning come and more pics appear!
I still sticking with Nubians and that Mohawk headpiece.....IT SWEET!!!
Raiders of the desert is a sweet male costume. The girlie version, while it have a suttle sexiness to it (especially the shrug-like top), if the bikini bottom were showing somehow, I think it would've been better, and that costume is a must-wear-boots costume. But ahhhm, what gon' happen to the brown cotton when peoples start sweating??!!
Like everyone, the costumes are gorgeous. What I dont like is to get the full effect of the costume, with the nice sized headpieces, you have to pay an extra 66 US. So for Jewel of the Nile, to get ur costume to be as pretty as u see it in pictures, its $550 US. Thats alot of money for some sparkles and 10 feathers.
Good point anon. Warrior, I agree. If there was a piece of pany showing - yeah! But Anon 8.56, you doh like Dragon?! I in dat section!
But wait. Is only string holding on the wire bra in G&D?!
wowwwwwwww....the costumes are on fiyahhhhhhhhhhh
i love everything except...Cacti and the mohawk headpiece....
some headpeices need some extra umph...and lacking but how much feathers are in a dessert really?
that sahara jumbie is wickettttttttt i love how it looks like a top and not a bra...just draped over the boobies.....
and I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee goddess and defenders....lawd faddderrrr those wings are to die for....it reminds me of the wickett rain Fredricks of hollywood remix from this year that IP pulled....
Excellent photography.....
Goddess and Defenders is a real tease costume. Half your tits outside but then you have big a$$ wings on your back where yuh man can't take a wine, less he get a face full of feathers :S
Saucy, as the kids say in NYC...you are GANGSTA wid it! LOL I'm not even going to ask how you got those 'fessional (my nephew's word) pictures.
The costumes are lovely, I'm not gassed by them though. Even if I was, my good sense would rush back to me upon seeing all the nonsense IP is doing toward overseas people. Carnival is more than just the pretty pretty costume, it's a major part yes, but it should not be the ONLY ingredient in your carnival diet.
We could always depend on We saucy for the fastest hook up.!!
Saucy - I guess you don't have any idea on prices for IP or when the on line registration will start do you?
OMG!!! Sacred sand is boss. Goddess and Defenders is a rip off of Tribe's Nylon Pool, but Sacred Sand is the shit for real. That and Oasis...WOW!
Saucy!! I caan manage you - I just log on and already you about 100 blogs already...but damn the IP caught my eye!! WOW...Oasis is my #1 and sacred sand...its indeed a pity that their service sucks...all that glitters isnt goal den eh!

The IP website assures its masqueraders that online registration begins on or before Wednesday 27th September, 2006. Prices are listed under the costumes. Hope that helps! =)
