Ok, hear dis

The girl at TRIBE was very nice this morning, she said registration will begin before the end of this week, they just have a few TLC cards to distribute and the website has tp be up fully before regsitration begins. I also wanted to know if I could register both myself and my friend who played in 2005 and she said yes, once you have a TLC number you are going to register first, so that business about 2006 masqueraders being first followed by those who played in 2005 is out the window. Everyone who played in 2005 and 2006 are now on equal footing to register at the same time, so there might not be a mad rush like last year but there will be a rush to get into the section you WANT nevertheless. I feel by the time they give out TLC cards all 3500 masqueraders will have cards..watch ting! So look out for an email from TRIBE sometime this week.

I was even so boldface as to ask her about the rumour I heard about Imp selling out, she laughed and said it was not true, that it was just a RUMOR. I will leave that piece of bachannal alone for now, but let me ent get into the section I want and allyuh will hear my mouth!

As for Island People I did not get to hear the voice recording, when I called the mascamp they are still saying that they cannot give out any information as yet, but I heard from a VERY reliable source that registration is starting next week.

Well hottie hottie, the amount of TLC cards they giving out, for both 2006 and 2005 if they have space left it might not be in the section yuh want when yuh really think about it.

I am sure Island People's site will up soon if they looking at registration starting next week.

So, can you (being a TLC card holder) register for someone who did not play mas with Tribe before?..say your boyfriend for example?

Thanks Saucy, right on time with the 411 as per usual.
There was a rumour 'Imp' sold out? Mmm, they told me last year they "test" the registration system ahead of time by letting a few "choice" masqueraders sign up early (i selling it how i buy it eh), but a whole 200+ people??!! Well if it is true and Imp sell out, no scene, not feelin' that section anyways (being honest.
Ok well I glad registration starting before the end of this week, because this holding up a whole series of events that have to follow to get me ready for Feb. 19th 2007 (God willing).

Thanks again Saucy!!

anon I asked that question already and was told the TLC cannot work for a female registering a male or vice versa, it has to be a male name/tlc for a male and a female name/tlc for a female. So you can register a girlfriend under your tlc but not your boyfriend.

So, what's the difference? I really don't understand that.
If the rule was a TLC card holder could only register for him/herself I could understand and abide by that. But to say a female TLC holder could only register another female and the same for males, that doesn't make much sense to me.
What's your take on it?
And you are doing a great job by the way. Your blog is where I first view most costumes!
Thanks!!!

But the site says that the benfits of the TLC is nontransferable. Well if that is the case all hell brake loose because i have a couple friends who played in tribe in 2005 and dey didn't play in 2006 and not intending on playing 2007.

Anonymous contact me if yuh willing to sell yuh TLC for a fee.

Trinidad Carnival Diary said...

Ok, I wasn't clear enough. The TLC is for YOU only, your name will be used as the one registering, you will have to be the one picking up etc (unless you do a letter stating that someone else is coming to pick up for you or you sold your costume).

But, there are people who have TLC cards and are not playing in 2007, in that case if you have a friend who wants to play you can sign up that person with your TLC BUT it will be under YOUR name, get what I am saying? TRIBE is not advocating signing up someone under your TLC, but we all know it will and is going to happen.

I can forsee some problems in the future IF they are asking for things like ID to pick up costumes, then you will need to track down the person who had the TLC and get their information. Also, the person with the TLC will be registered as having played with TRIBE in 2007 and if the same procedure is in place for 2008 they will get benefits without having played AND paid for the costume.

But I am sure there are ways to get around that, you can always say the person sold you the costume.

Hey,

I like your site, especially the pics of the costumes.
Very enlightening comments :-)

As a Tribe 2005 masquerader I did not expect to recieve a TLC card. But I did to my surprise... not sure if I'll use it though, still undecided.

Anyways, keep the 411 coming... and maybe we may bounce up on the road.
