IMPORTANT NOTICEWhy is it that every year registration is becoming more and more difficult? Yesterday I noticed a sign up at Tribe's mascamp, which my friend alerted me to, saying that registration begins on September 4th...hello, that is tomorrow and I have not received an email from them! I am thinking that must be an old notice, before the last email saying that they were trying to accommodate 2005 masqueraders and hence the delay in registration. But now I am not too sure since the website says nothing about registration being tomorrow but the sign at the mas camp does. Well yes, allyuh know I will be calling them as soon as they open to find out what the real deal is.
Due to technical difficulties, persons who registered online between Monday 28th to Tuesday 29th August are required to call Harts Limited at 622-8038 or email harts@hartscarnival.com to confirm that their registration information has been received.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
The website is not fully up and running yet, so those who have to register online need to have that in place properly as well, you will think these people did not know that registration was going to be a process that follows the launch. I am getting antsy because I already made my choice, finally settled on a costume and I am READY TO REGISTER.
I also called Island People on Friday (the day they told me to call) to find out about their registration, and they could not say anything either, just another voice on the phone saying "call back". I mean thanks for changing the website from tweeting birds to the sound of wind, it looks nice with the Sahara logo and pic but change that "Launching Soon" and put a little notice so that we will know what's going on...how long is soon? Allyuh know how irritated I was with Harts "coming soon" the "launching soon" starting to annoy me as well. And even more so since I am not even waiting to register myself, I am doing this for my friends. Like I don't have enough stress waiting for TRIBE!
Now I see Harts had some problems with their online registration, see why I don't trust those things? In this technologically advanced world it is supposed to make everything easier, faster and more user friendly but in the MAS world like it is just there to frustrate your soul. After last year's scene with me at my computer waiting for TRIBE's registration and seeing the screen freeze I am taking no chances with online registration again!I will be at the mas camp in person, don't mind they told me I will have to enter the information on the computer at the mas camp, if something goes wrong at least I am there. And the other thing that people got caught with last year was that credit cards and debit cards were either taking too long to process or were not being accepted, another glitch in the technological world. Smart me walked with cash! Nothing was faster and I did not have to line up and wait to pay hoping my card went through.
So I am waiting patiently to call TRIBE at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning, that is if I don't get an email from them later today. I think I am getting too old for all this stress and wasn't this whole TLC business supposed to make things easier? Tender Loving Care better had be "coming soon"!

Girl i saw that same sign on saturday when i visited the mas camp.. and i was so happy, i was contemplating staying home on monday..lol. Now i fraid to take the day : next thing registration starting on tuesday. keep me posted SAUCY!!! oh yeah i changed my mind i think i am playing in jab jab, on saturday when i saw warrior sprit for the third time... I was not liking the bra piece and I have issues with the large head piece.
Good Morning Saucy...I just happened to find your site by accident and so far I LOVE IT!!!! You are so honest in your feedback it makes me feel as if meh macomeh tellin me de ting! Keep it up!. Now as far as Tribe is concerned I played with them in 06 for the first time and I loved it..however in my humble view Tribe has to realize that not every woman is a size 0 with a 2 inch waist and a -A bra cup!! (no offense to those ladies) I am a "thick ting" carrying some DDD so TRIBE I NEED the EXTRA SUPPORT!!! Last year I ended up having to search for a tube top to suppliment the bra that when ah put on and ah jump ah would not fall out! nuff said! Also having played in Poison and Barbarossa before I loved the idea of having a "Monday outfit" this year in Tribe I end up puttin on a Tshirt and some jeans and to avoid the hassle of the "guards" kickin meh out the band ah had to constantly show meh id bands...crazy. Considering that they have increased all the costumes by $100+ USD the least they could do is provide a shirt! I also hope that they will eventually offer some Tankini options or whole bathing suit options for most of their sections because I love Tribe but I do not trust dem bra tops! lol Ah know ah went off the topic forgive me...as far as registration is concerned..ah hittin them on two ends ah on meh computer and ah have meh "Jammette" and dem in TnT making sure I in the band so I cool. Kevian let's hope by tomorrow they will let us know something, I know I did not imagine that sign! I like the yellow and orange Jab Jab, me and the pink one have issues since my friend wanted to play in Anemone this year (2006) and I did not want to...that pink Jab Jab reminds me plenty of Anemone. I don't like Warrior Spirit's belt, that thing kinda stiff, did you touch it? I am talking about the strips of plastic "hanging" from the front,the rest of the belt nice, but dem things eh moving at all,I like my beads going "swish" "swish" when I jumping up so I eliminated Warrior Spirit as well.
deredting, I asked about tankinis and wholesuits on behalf of someone who emailed me and was told by a member of TRIBE when I called that all sections will have that option except for Cow Mas because it is a kinda whole suit already.I know about the bra issues, I am DD and TRIBE's bras fit but are still skimpy.Unlike you I was able to try my bra at the mas camp and get the size that fit. I prefer the skimpier bra with the thin straps to the one with the thick straps (which one did you have?) since I use elastoplast to tape my breasts and they stay put...no popping out of the bra when I am jumping up on the road!
The first time I played with TRIBE when I went to the mas camp Lana was there and she suggested the bras with underwire and not the halters for my size, she also said we could request double straps instead of the single ones for more support.
But no matter what I still end up adjusting the bra because the back is either to big or the straps too long. Gone are the days of the costume adjustment center when TRIBE used to do it for you, people were carrying bootleg costumes for the people to fix up and that was the end of that!
The last piece of advice I have in respect to the bras is that you should be able to supply your own bra, if you like, and have them decorate it. I have done that in the past when I played with Harts and Poison and got the perfect fit.
Saucy thank you for the tips...true story tried the tape at home to see if it would work..Band ah de Year came on and my tape came off lol dat was de end ah dat lol I had the bra with the thick straps I thought those were the ones that were made for us bountifully breasted lol I will be calling the mas camp and see if I could FedEx my bra hopefully it would work. As far as my costume selection I playin wid Warrior Spirit and ONLY because I want to hang that headpiece in meh office lol I plan to go totally "ethnic" on my boss (dat is another tory" lol
I knew that Harts was having technical problems with registration from way back. In years gone by, I have noticed many problems with their on-line registration forms (including un-secured forms), so I have been reluctant to do on-line registration with them.
But this year, quite by accident, I actually found hard evidence of the actual problem. I have an automatic Google alert set up to alert me to any new information about Harts band launch, and the day after the website was supposed to launch the alert turned up a question on a web-developer message board with the code for Harts registration form posted for all the world to see. The person who submitted the question was complaining that they couldn't get the code to work. And it looks like even AFTER they finally launched the website (2 weeks late), it still was not working properly.
That's why I always register by fax, or on the phone if possible. And I don't think I would trust the registration process on ANY website for my carnival costume. There is just too much at stake.
So from personal experince, I would advise everyone to avoid on-line registration, if they can. No matter what band they choose to play with.
Miss Lady I KNOW you did not use elastoplast, doh tell me use duct tape eh cause dat is madness!!Elastoplast stays on and stays put, to remove you either wet the ends and gently peel or use baby oil on the edges and gently peel.
I use the wide "flesh" colour bandage which has stretch/lycra,it's sticky on one side and comes rolled around a spool.
This is how you do it:
Take the bandage and start from under the breasts just below the armpit and start sticking from there to just about the middle of your cleavage (if the tape is showing when you try on your bra you can cut off the edges)you taping it like a hammock so it supports your breasts. After that you can do a second row above that, same taping from one side to the next.That should hold well enough when you put on your bra so the breasts don't jump out when you jumping.If you need more support do another strip across the nipples but make sure and put some cotton on your nipples because that thing is like a wax when you taking it off and you know the nipples are very sensitive so I don't want you in pain!
Try it and tell me if it works.
LOL Saucy I like yuh style and you right it was not Elastoplast ah used it was some kind of double sided tape. But I am going to Walgreens and purchase my Elastoplast and ah go tell yuh how dat work lol lol
Yeah it stiff too bad, i guess it has to do with the type of jewel like beads that they used. I like the back of the belt with the flap like thing, but i still like plastic beads better because it gives the illusion that yuh real throwing waist even when yuh ent making much effort. The pink jabjab is jus like last year's Anemone,...head piece and all..but it is nice never the less. The orange jab jab is my 1st choice. Well i don't have bra woes really because I am a 32B which isn't much, I usually have underwear woes ( too tight squeezes the stomach and too large is usually too high up ur stomach). Tribe offering thongs in jab jab? I think they really need to offer monday wear with all that money they charging, but I am usually cool with wearing my custume on both days.
saucy this is the night nurse here what you think about wearing a silver boots with jab jab?
That Jab Jab costume has gold on it so I am not seeing the silver..the silver however will look great with Jab Molassie.

I'm counting down the months, weeks, days...I seem to be the few loving Dragon (its simple relative to the others - not that elaborate) - but red, orange and gold are my colours so its all good. I wanting to wear boots with it - i thinking gold boots would do the trick? What u think? I dont understand how Dragon more expensive than Jab Jab though - US$482...and it aint got nutten...anyway, I registered as a 2006 masquerader long time, but I havent gotten my TLC yet...u kno I calling them first thing 2mrw...anyhow they tell me my name get lost "in the system" - I will be livid...
Sauce, how was Pulse8? Yuh went? Kevian, what yuh must do with the panty thing is buy it a lil on the big side and then get somebody to take it in a bit by the crotch. Not sideways eh. Lengthways. What this does is make the panty sit a little lower on your hips, stil covering the goodies without squeezing the sides. Tried and true ting here girl.
Hottie panty will cover the whole bottom when i do that, because it will be made for a big person.Did that happen with u?

No. If you is a smally - like a size 35-38 hips, take a size medium panty. Just go one size higher than the too tight size. Most bands eh making panty to cover your whole bottom anyway. Just take a high cut panty when you're choosing your bottom piece. Take in about a half to an inch from the front so you get a lovely low rise panty - make sure the person who adjusting it stitch it properly eh, cuz you really doh want no piece ah cloth assaulting yuh Carnival Monday and Tuesday.
i saw this sign close to work saying masboots for sale, it is in the area close to picadilly street. The sign is painted with pain on a glavanize gate.. i want to go and check out the scene but i need an entire squad to go with me..daz a journey i not making alone!. i will keep u all posted!

anonymous take a look at the boots on the models for IP lauch, they decorated the boots and I find it looked real good.So if you are using gold,which will look great with drgaon, you can decorate it like that.
