Updates

The rest of TRIBE's prices are now posted on their website:

Imp
Female 3,125
Imp Frontline 4,225
Male 2,125

Majorette
3,295 Female, 2,095 Male

Pierrot Grenade
Frontline Option A (without backpack) 2,990
Frontline Option B (with backpack) 3,475 579

Bat
Frontline 3,395
Male 2,095

Why is Imp SO expensive, I don't even like that costume and if that's the section that is rumored to be sold out all I have to say is less people to fight up with for MY section. And jeezan ages, Majorette is expensive as well....how do we end up with three of the less popular sections (Imp, Jean&Dinah and Majorette) being so blasted expensive?

Oh, and triniscene.com FINALLY has photos from Island People's launch, they are always late with the photos but have lots of pics.

I finally heard the recording when I called Island People's mas camp,it says that costume vieiwing and registration information will be released on Saturday 9th of September.

saucy - it must be de cloth dey be charging for? or maybe is de stitching..dey be crazy...

Trinidad Carnival Diary said...

steups what cloth? The cloth only to the front and then a piece of decorated organza to the back. I see NOTHING on that costume costing that kinda price, ie best you play in Bat frontline!!! I do know that the outside sections cost more because they have to pay band fees to Tribe and WE the masquerader absorb that cost, but that is a real big profit that they want to make on that section.

No sneakers for me saucy...I have no idea what kind of shoe I'm wearing but it has to be gold!

Trinidad Carnival Diary said...

Shandy so what are you doing with the foot thingies, the flared fabric? I like the boots they used for IP, check out the girls in the Arabian Night section, I like how those boots are decorated.

On the DL I heard that the reason why Imp so damn expensive is because Tribe want 80% of the profit and they want less people in the section.
Doh worry Tribe go make they money cause is we go be paying for that especially if you can't get into the section you like!

Trinidad Carnival Diary said...

Yuh know, cause the section leaders pass on that stress to the masqueraders. More pressure to get into the section yuh like.
