Well another section in TRIBE has sold out, the next one gone is Jab Molassie . It's a nice costume, I even like the tail, but I am not liking the headpiece. If the headpiece was done similar to the frontline' s, a scaled down version maybe, to me it would look more attractive, however it is sold out so I guess lots of people liked it. That leaves 5 more sections open, I am taking bets on when the entire band will sell out.
On another note, I wish Island People would kindly indicate on their website what sections are sold out as well. It would save me from having to harrass them at the mas camp yet again to get an update for those persons who do not reside in Trinidad.

Slowly but surely they r going. And I think now that the masqueraders have seen the rest of the big band launching ppl r now looking to Tribe cause at the end of the day its not costumes alone but the on the road experience. As you said Saucy in one of your post you choose band 1st and then costumes. PPl have seen all the other band costumes and I think now its coming down to band. So I expect Tribe to be sold out by Dec 15.
Have you been able to get through to IP easily, tho'? I know in the earlies it was real pressure.
I really must commend you on your dedication to your fans. Cheers, Saucy.
cb I have been getting through to IP's mas camp via telephone quite easily after the inital rush for costumes and the website was launched. There is also no problem giving information over the phone, well at least in relation to what sections are sold out.
alexia you think costumes will still be available by December? I predict they sell out earlier than that.
Saucy,
THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting that island ppl needs to put up which sections are sold out! It's only common sense that doing that would make everyone's life much easier (foreigners, locals and the ppl at the mas camp). Also, I heard that all costumes for online registration are sold out...if that is true, can you please tell them to post that also so foreigners can stop wasting their time trying to register!!
One more question saucy...since u seem to know everything about carnival :) Five of my friends need somewhere to stay, preferably in town (woodbrook, st. James area), do you know of anywhere still available bc all of the places they have called are sold out!
anon you flatter me, I do not know everything (case in point being the Heineken post yesterday) but I try my best to find out.
I don't know if these are gone already but you can at least give them a try:

You also have
Normandie, Kapok, Ambassador, Chaconia Inn, Carnetta's Inn and Monique's in the Maraval area.
Yes girl, I just re-read your comment. Yuh know I examined that costume in detail and took pics for one of my blog readers and the belt is so pretty, the bra is nice too, but the belt is really nice it's just the headpiece that giving trouble. It would have been one of the first to sell out if the headpiece was diffetent. So you predict Pierrot next? We shall see :D
Bat is gonna definitely sell out next! saucy your blog is the best! I don't no what I'll do with you, your my trini Carnival eyes..
Oooh, we're betting money now? I thought gambling was taboo? I love a good rebellion!
No comment on IP!!!
Jab molassie looked much nicer close up with that diamante. I actually liked the headpiece but not sure if I would really wear it.
Buh Saucy for all you know..maybe they cut the numbers in Jab Molassie and added to another section. I hear some other sections like Imp and Cow mas are just stagnating right now.
Hmm,somehow Leasel Rovedas sections are always sort of slow to grow on me. The first year she came out with that dark purple costume, nice but the colour was too dark (for me) and it was one of the last to sell out. Last year I sort of liked Wild Samazi, did not like the headpiece so much but it got caught up in the madness and was "sold out" like everything else in "two days".Now Imp.......dunno what to say.
Hey, I forgot to say hi to exotic beauty! We taking bets, we'll see if Bat sells out first or Pierrot like Kevian says...I go buy allyuh a Heineken on the road :D
I going with Kevian in thinking that Pierrot will sell out before Bat. I think the price of Bat is what have people sticking. That price is steep.
And those bat ears are just wrong. Major deterrent.
With all that said,,people in Cow mas and Imps may already have a sour taste in their mouth knowing that their sections are "stagnating" or maybe they dont care that their section at best may carry the fewest numbers throughout the whole band. I'm picturing a very small group of cow folks grazing across the savannah stage. Have any of you been in a situation like that before? What should band leaders do when a section buss? I did not get my first pick (Dragon) due to bad timing, but I know that my section (Dame Lorraine Section A)was one of the next few to sell out. I felt better about my pick with that revelation.
Well it would not matter to me if my section sold out first or last once I like my costume.I don't think Cow Mas or Imp will buss they will sell out eventually.
nope, no sour taste, yup, don't care.
Boy my friend was trying to chain me up in that wild samanzi , that was a next costume I said "oh hells no" for that same reason. That head piece was awful!
hey anon 4:52..i actually have extra spots at the guesthouse im staying at..since my friends wont be able to make it anymore..so im looking for new roomies.. so anyone still looking for somewhere to stay they can email me slimgyal718@gmail.com for more info
hi saucy
well i predict mid november they will be sold out and i doubt island people will be sold out till feb looking at carnival junction also saucy what the hell is goin on with that band dream team????? they launch how long ago and still no website up yet???
I agree...I think that no matter what, the sections will eventually sell out..and December is kind of a late date to give for that to happen...I say by the third week in November, everything gone.
My girlfriend was actually worried about Jab Molassie not being sold out (she playing in that section nah)...so I am sure she will be happy to hear that news =)
As most bands launch already, people are now able to weigh their options (except if you KNEW you would play with a particular band beforehand, like many Tribe and IP followers) and try to correlate the entire Carnival Experience (costume, drinks, de lime) with the price.
Pierrot's colouring is gorgeous, it's the ribbon effect that scares me a little... but I have cousins who still registered in that section. I would only play a Frontline Bat rather than Back..it's more attractive, not to mention that it's more practical for the money than the backline.
CowMas...well...yeah....lol...whatever floats your boat, but it's just not my cup of tea.
I had actually liked Jab Molassie. I loved the colour combo and Saucy, you mad?! I LOVE the headpiece. I had sneakers, earrings everything to match. But them girls again... Is only afterwarsd I find out meh wotless cousin and he string bank from Miami playing in that the Tuesday. Steups. Family again.
Hottie like you looking to give somebody Horn with that headpiece :D
masquerade I was wondering myself what going on with Dream Team's website, but the band was "30% sold out" before they launched according to the band leader's statements in the media so I doubt they have anything to worry about :P
another band i looking out fuh is trini revellers what goin on wid dem nuh.
wow 30% before they even launch?? my questions would be how much costume they making? and how much costumes they sold up till now if no one can see what they got unless u live in trinidad?? but hey is they happy with they lil 30% good luck to them
well Saucy u know how I love that Jab Molassie (even the headpiece) - both Frontline & Backline. I can't wait to sport my horns & tail - u best believe I will be tiefing hubby's pitchfork too! I set w/ my mas boots & accessories & makeup - sooooo ready for de road right now :)
Saucy i know u gave out IP's number a million times but we are tryin to find it, can u kindly give me the telephone number.
bajangal it is easy to remember, 625-1FUN or 625-1386
Morning All:
Jab Molassie backline is a gorgeous costume, its just dem damn horns!! But the detailing in the bra and belt kick a$$, seriously. So I'm not surprised it's gone.
All of allyuh who sleepin' on Cow Mas you know my point of view, that costume ROCKS!! So kudos to Karabana and Husband who playin in it, y'all will look hot on the road!
I not betting, cause I want to say Cow Mas going next, but given that people have no taste (i say that with a smile on my face), I not getting involved in the bettin. But I real love Cow Mas!
thanks
What up Warrior like me, why aren't you joining us Cow folk Buublenut, Trini-in-TO, Trinigee & I? Yeah, it rocks, yeah, it'll look hot. I have no fear -
I'm bringing sexy back.
