Costumes for sale.....at a PROFIT.

So it has been two months since TRIBE launched and about a month since registration started and one costume has popped up on Carnivaljunction.com for sale, Jab Jab orange. But hear the greatest, the person wants $1200.00 when they boldface enough to say ONLY the downpament of $900.00 was made! They looking to make $300.00 profit and it is not even a good month since registration started!

Now I know Jab Jab is sold out, but when my friend sold her costume this year it did not occur to her to charge more than what the costume costs. Enlighten me, is it the norm for costumes to be resold for more than the original price? If so I am in the wrong job! Next year I could make back the money I spend on my costume by investing in the costume resale market! If you see people looking for costumes at Carnival Junction as well, someone wants 7 Island People costumes another person wants 4. All now I could have been $3000.00 richer by reselling costumes at a $300.00 profit to those TWO people that are desperatley seeking Jewel of the Nile and Sacred Sand.

Drop me a comment if you have sold or bought a costume for more than it's original price. I am quite curious as to how many people are willing to pay up to get into the section of their choice.

good morning everybody
you know i too curious about what people would pay to get into their section of choice. i have no knowledge of this yet. but it does not surprise me that people would
try to profit from this venture. but from a business standpoint, it make sense.

carnival has gotten so popular though that i am sure there would be people that are willing to pay more for the costume than what it really is worth. i wouldn't do that though, if i were desperate i would probably risk waiting until last minute like Carnival Sat and Sun when bands get rid of costumes at cheap prices so as not to have it on their hands. My cousin got her costume like that this year. People be careful what business you get into with others.

PS: sauce gyal ah know who d band is now- - -lol hope you feeling better now

Doesn't strike me as fair. It's not as though its $300 extra on the full cost of the costume - it's just on the downpayment. The person buying is doing the seller a favour too by taking the costume of their hands.

But saucy , you stickin!! You could be blinging all now! That does happen right thru!! My link in Tribe tell me that ppl were calling that camp from overseas before registration even open and offering twice as much for that Nylon Pool lead section. But when you think about it Hottie it IS $300 more on the overall costume price. If I give you $1200 when you pay $900 down , I still have to go and pay the same outstanding balance that you leave in the mas camp. That $300 going straight in your pocket and not on the costume so I will pay $300 more in total. Them only looking to fatten their pocket
I honestly feel that is part of the reason teh bands raise their downpayments. The costume scalping was rampant, ppl used to sign up for multiple costumes just to resell. Long time you could pay down for you and yuh squad at $600 a pop. But when you have 3 ppl at $1000 its a bigger expense and ppl may not be as willing to front that amount of money jus so.So they made it harder for scalpers to buy them out and increased the risk of loss.
With that said, anybody want to buy my Angel Fish costume from last year?? Worn once lol!
