In the name of Troy!

Genesis' website is up and running folks! Now, it would be expected that I would comment on the backgrounds in some of the photos that not only look desert like, but they appear to have NOT benefited from the services of a fulbright photographer or an expert in adobe photoshop, but I will not comment on that at all. Neither will I comment on some of the male costumes, however I will say one thing, I do like Andromache!

I have counted 13 sections with prices ranging from $2095.00 to $2800.00 and downpayment is still $600.00 for regular costumes and $1000.00 for frontlines. The section Thetis has not been changed, much to my surprise, it still looks like my grand mother's house dress.

The theme Troy left the door wide open for some beautiful, creative costumes but I have to say the costumes do not impress me much at all. This one, Citizens of Troy, looks like the model is wearing a blouse with a belt, consequently it is the cheapest female costume:

To Genesis' credit they are offering online registration, using Senvia if you please (no moneygram for THIS band!) though the sizing is odd in that they list S, M, L, XL and no sizing guide. At least they provide a section for you to type in your measurements the old fashioned way. It appears that the band is all-inclusive since they list an option for meat or vegetarian on the registration page, but there is really no information on the website saying what the all-inclusive package entails.

Hopefully more information will be forthcoming as they tweak the webiste over the next few weeks. For now I will enjoy the photos, if for nothing more than the entertainment value.

You mean to tell me Genesis have online registration and IP can't get that yet ???STEUPS
Every body on this tie dye band wagon now boy. Andromache is very different but I CANNOT wear that with no bra and i don't want to see anyone else either.Thetis really look like a house dress lolol. But oh gosh, i guess for older ppl it might make them feel more comfortable. I still think they should have had a sexy option at least. Same for the Trojan women. That top could wear to go party (not! doh get no ideas ppl)

I like them, very nice colours, they did a great job keeping w their theme, good for Genesis! They've got lotsa coverage for those who want it or skimpy bikinis done a bit different, something 4 everyone! I don't care for the style of headpiece going down the nose, but they are being true to the fashion back in the "Troy" day I suppose.

I really not going to waste my time and look @ the website. That housedress scared me to death..and Andromache is pretty, but very unrealistic and non-condusive to Carnival activity..I would rock that outfit on a boat cruise (sans hand and headgear, of course, lol), not during Carnival Monday and Tuesday!

Personally I wouldn't wear those custumes, but i think we all are still in that beads and feathers brain wash, i actually find that most of the female custumes are nice and creative. The male custumes on the other hand are for those strong men who usually populate the band genesis. i think if these were minshell's design's it would be appricated more. I think Legacy had entered in the another arena with these custumes, they have arisen from the IP,Tribe, poison, babarosa arena into the Trini revellers, minshell's, Mc Farlene kinda thing.

Kevian,

You said it best! Everyone expecting to see skin. These costumes are creative in my opinion (well at least the women costumes). I think they will have a good showing this year and masqueraders will appreciate what they have to offer and the pricing.

LMAO @ "fireplace" LOL

The photos look cheesy, with all the scenery in Trinidad they couldn't find a nice on site location? Not even the Pointe a Pierre Wild Fowl Trust? Nothing? LOL

The costumes are decent but not practival looking. McFarlane and Minshall back in the days had cloth upon cloth but people could still move in the mas. I don't see how people can move in "Troy" without a wardrobe malfunction.
