According to TRIBE's website the section Jean and Dinah is "SOLD OUT", however they also have this posted
"The DINAH option of Jean & Dinah is STILL AVAILABLE". Like they cannot make up their minds if the section is sold out or not.
Anyways, I am going with Jean and the male costumes are gone, but you can still register for Dinah, which is no surprise since I never liked "Dinah":
It still amazes me that Bat Frontline and Pierrot are still not sold out!!!I guess the issue with Bat is that the backline is overpiced at $3185.00 while the frontline is only $210.00 more at $3395.00, the obvious choice would be the frontline over the backline since the backline has that inspid headpiece. And I so thought that at $2595.00, the cheapest section in TRIBE , Pierrot Grenade, would have been sold out as well. Maybe to some people the cheap price also reflects a cheap costume.
Oh, and both Dragon and Jab Jab frontlines are still available "surprise, surprise" though to it's credit when I saw Jab Jab frontline in person the costume looked really pretty. Honestly, to me the price for both costumes is not worth a revamped version of the backline with a bigger headpiece, they should have added a really elaborate back pack to justify the price and make the costumes worthy of being called a frontline.

Yeah,if dem frontlines were done a lil differently I might ah throw caution and sense to the wind and play a frontline.But as is, and for d price dat is why they eh moving.That 4k they calling for the frontlines sans backpack is a lil steep.
Yeah girl. I mean, people does go a lil crazy for Carnival but not that crazy. Too besides, is not like in past years where Tribe is the only "hot band" offering nice costumes. There are lots of nice costumes out there. There is less of a rush to play in Tribe no matter what.

Who would have thought Jean and Dinah would be sold out so soon? I think Peter has his people and Tribe also has many, many loyalist.If they had redesigned a couple of those sections that not moving, like re-do Bat headpiece and tweak Imp and Majorete they too would be sold out by now.
And I know some people still undecided,one of the young girls at work played with Trini Revllers this year but yesterday took my TRIBE book home to look over the costumes with her sisters because she not seeing anything suitbale in Trini Revellers.
I didn't think that white "costume" would have sold out since it isn't really a costume at all. I mean, that kind of mas has it's people but they usually aren't the type to play in Tribe. But I guess they don't see it as playing in Tribe, they're playing with Peter. So how come Pater Minshall is allowed to have sections in different bands?! Shouldn't that be some sort of conflict or the other? I'm VERY surprised about Midnight Robbers elling out since I didn't like not just the headpiece but the costume in general. I felt it was a throwback lazyman design. And as for that Primary School arts and craft headpiece that is bat regular headpiece - you've GOT to be kidding. Even if it was FREE eh eh!
Peter Elias is who yuh mean right Hottie? Well he only has ONE section which is with TRIBE, he told me he did the design for Mojito in Pulse 8 as a favour for Meg who is a good friend of his.
Dais who I mean. I was thinking of Peter Minshall when I was talking about the white cotton/brown cotton mas. Sorry girl.

you know what saucy quik question i did notice last year that a week after harts website went up 70% of the sections were sold and before u could blink the rest were gone and they added new sections and this year is like 3 sections barely sell what is going on???? harts costumes are really nice just not the right band for me i like wildness
Come on Bagogyul, be a frontline Bat. After Fireman and Sailor sold out (and with some input from questions that I asked Saucy), the next thing for me was Bat frontline. They really do need to rework that Bat backline. I actually like Bat backline minus that horrible headpiece and that's why I went with the frontline. The only thing that bothers me with the bat frontline is that lawd, it look like dem wings go be a whine blocker.
A friend had give the heads up that dragon and jab jab were coming with a frontline. Can you believe I almost held out registering for that??The horror!! I was sooo disappointed with dragon frontline.They had to explain to me that its supposed to look like its half woman, half dragon. And count our blessings cause that skirt used to be a cape! The jab jab lead does look real hot in reality though. I never like that section on the whole.
I had like pierrot grebade but its machu pichu colours so it get blow out one time. The lead close up looks like somebody poured some Elmer's glue on a piece of carboard and poured a handful of sequins on it. The finish is very rough and the bottom piece is quite stiff. But it still looks pretty from a short distance away.
Saucy I KNOW you not dissin my imp. That section is disappointing me as well, I thought it would have done so much better. I doh understand why ppl don't like it!! Everybody I tell I was going and sign up in that laugh at me! Ok you can throw away the cape and MAYBE the feathers needed trimming but other than that its hot. I would have liked that headpiece for a change. I am so sick of finding someone to hold it or a drink truck to rest headpiece on. I think the price is turning ppl off cause it is a little over teh top for what you get. But I was sure as hell playing in imp before I sign up in Midnight Robber (Poison '83) or Majorette (Poison '84).

Not me and that Malkadie looking costume. I had liked Pierrot grenade but meh fren back home say it look cheap. And imp just crash.

Well I am not surprised these sections aren't moving because the design is just not what it was expected to be. Yesterday folks talked about TR being coskel, but that Dragon frontline is a real EYESORE! I agree that this frontline really could've stood a better chance if they'd burn that hideous skirt and give a backpack instead. The skirt looks like it belongs at the base of a Xmas tree. The two leg pieces don't match and that horrendous clawed glove is reminiscent of Wacko Jacko singing "Beat It"...Recycle? It truly is one of the ugliest sections for 2k7. The right to be called a frontline should be out and out REVOKED for this one! I don't have too much of an issue with Jab Jab FL, it Bollywood but it ent SO bad.
As for the other sections still to sell out, I SWEAR if TRIBE canned ANY ONE of those and resurrected their yellow, orange, and red Poison Indian section with accoutrement it would sell out TOMORROW. Never mind de band have 2 other Indian mas sections already!
TRIBE is not selling so quickly due to a number of factors:
1. Increased costume pricing.
2. A noted decline in the quality of costume design.
3. Competitors offering cheaper and well constructed options.
4. The TLC and photo ID requests intimidated many new potential masqueraders.
5. While the jury may or may not still be out on this, the rumors of their so called bias & classism have worked quite a bit to their detriment. There are few mas players who will represent an ideal (whatever that may be) and folks become offended when they believe they are being excluded.
All in all, I like their ultra organized band and hope they sell out for 2k7!
And Peter Sweets does have he following yes...He could design ah burlap sack with he signature pon it and it'd sell out in no time!
Bat wld been nice and sold out by now if the price was less, from what i was told(allegedy)the person bringing out the section had no choice but to set the price high b/c Tribe raised their band fees from this yr.
Iwa how u go make out with them wings? I like the Bat FL but the wings r so big.

i honestly don't see what is so great about the bat frontline costume. they could have made the bat wings in such a way that it creates more movement, they look very stiff to me. better costumes out there in other bands.
Well I don't see and real difference between Jean short and the Dinah. The whole section looks like an outfit anyway.
I like it, but just not for a costume, and I not on the colour white either. It cute.
And Hottie I add Midnight Robber. With everything these days being feathers, beads and a 2 piece you can't really tell what they actually supposed to be portraying. So I tend to like costumes where you could tell the what the theme about. I liking the lil neck piece behind.
The Majorette on the other hand I can't handle at all, that headpiece and bra..uhgeed
Amen to all that prettidolli said,,but hear nah, since we revisiting some of de costumes, can i ask again what you all honestly think about Dame Lorraine Option A? like it? would not play in it? how it will look for de road? anyone else jumping with us? I am registered and the crew big so we all went there, plus some of us favored playing blue/green this time, but i still feel unsettled,,wanted to be in Dragon but it did not work out that way.I feel i could still haul tail and get in if i really tried.
nicky I like Dame Lorraine option A. The belt and bra is gorgeous and I am a fan of the big headpiece. The only thing is the fabric to the back that I don't like too much which is strange cause I like even more fabric on Les Aristocrates and Royal Court in Trini Revellers.
And for the person who wants to know why we like Bat frontline, well I cannot speak for everyone else, but I like the colour,the bra, the belt and even the headpiece. The model who wore the costume for the launch did the costume justice,and to me the wings looked light and comfortable. Not too sure how flexible they are but you cannot have a Bat costume without bat shaped wings....unless they made the wings attahced to your arms or something.
I love bat frontline that costume is wicked!, the bra ia beautiful the waistband is well decorated with those beads and that thin shape, it's nice and skinny, I love the way the beads fall at the back, to me that's one of the hottest section in the band, and I can't wait to see it on the road with the wings and all.
I HATE that dame lorraine option A. THAT is one costume that look like a Poison ole time ting as well. The floor section outshine that lead section by leaps and bounds.I had option B in my top 3.
And when TRIBE were stickin with releasing prices I went and investiquire to one of the big boys and he tell me is cause certian special sections "refused" to compromise on their prices. They did not want ANY of the floor section to be over $3g. That is why certain floor sections have the name of the designer on the website. Tribe basically say this is not we ting so doh cuss we,go and check so and so to see why they calling that price.
If Tribe did indeed raise their band fee (i eh macco all that) then the section owners probably just set their prices higher because they would not make the profit margin they were aiming for.

Option B is the lead costume and A is the cheaper backline costume.
Hear nuh allyuh.........if Imp wasn't the price it is now, I woulda be in that section with one of meh girlfriends yes........ah find that section pretty too bad and I LOVE the colors together.....I think that section will look so fierce on the road. However, I do agree for what it is, both backline and frontline are overpriced and that is why I went with Dragon. Other than the bra, there is not enough to it to justify $400+. If they would revamp the belt on that costume, I think it would be more appealing to the masses.

At the night of TRIBE's launch they were giving out the booklet with costumes before the models came on stage and my first choice at that time was Pierrot Grenade. I really like that costume then and when I saw the models I liked it even more. The only thing that made me change my mind about Pierrot was the colour combination/ribbon detail looked like it would do nothing for my body type.Somehow with all the ribbon on the bra I was left skeptical that it would fit bigger breasts well and the ribbons were akin to "srtipes" to me and I don't think stripes and anyone except the petite goes together. I just thought Pierrot would make me look fat to be honest :D
It is still a very pretty costume.
Yeah my bad, I read saucy first comment a little wrong. Its the Dame Lorraine option with the fan headpiece I hate(thats the lead). The other option was actually in my top 3 and is way better than the lead.

diva that is why I have not switched to beta as yet, beta is usually the testing stage when all the bugs are worked out. I will switch when I have to. Hope your issues get sorted out soon so you can be back to posting.
