Royalty

Trini Revellers' launch is in two weeks but another special section launched on Saturday. D Krewe showed their 2007 presentation "Royalty" at NCC's clubhouse on Saturday night. I had no prior knowledge of their launch or else I would have been there !

You can see photos of the section launch on Islandevents. The costumes are looking very good!!!

You see how Trinidad is a SMALL country, I just got some more information on this section through a friend who knows one of the committee members!

Ok,the section is all-inclusive (the usual premium drinks, breakfast and lunch) prices for backline costumes will be aproximately $2000.00 with frontline more expensive but still affordable (read LESS than $3000.00).The mas camp is opened for business, the address is #62 Warren Street, Woodbrook (next to Fatima College, Red Building).

phone: 622-8834
email address: dkrewe_tt@yahoo.com
webite: www.dkrewecarnival.com (expected to be up by the end of the week).

ANd you see, look how GOOD these Trini Revellers costumes are looking, and I can guarantee that they are way cheaper.

Trini Revellers, I think I may give you guys a shot come Carninval 2k8, if these other bands don't buck up - with service (I aint calling no names of people who coming from the desert)prices, as well as costumes.

TriniRevelers are always on point with their costumes. The costumes are very nice and colorful.

the red and the yellow front line costumes are so fierce I don't know what to do with myself. Thank goodness I haven't chosen which band to perform with... If only I can hold out for Legacy's fancy indian theme.. who knew the French Revolution could look so good!?

I think Trini Revellers will be THE band for all seasons, they offer costumes for old and young,all-inclusive or not, the prices are within means and they are band of the year....3 years running!

I feel them could get my money. Great costumes.

They should have come out earlier,,give people a real choice. My cousin did tell me to hold out a little bit and wait. She's intent on playing with them. Of course i got caught up in TRIBE and IP hype. That being said, I see some similarity in TRIBE Dragon and Jab Molassie costumes with the red and yellow pics. what u think?

oh wow..very very nice

LOOKING GOOD!!! I like them. Revellers can get my money.

IF I am playing next year, Revellers would get my money.
(Of course once the continue to be reasonable with their prices!!)

they were a consideration, fabulous costumes for a much more reasonable price, but again, Tribe's registration came up 1st...

I'm LOVING those custumes, especially the red one. And I like the way they did the 'Napoleon' style hat for the male costume in blue.

Niiiiiice!!!

and the colors are very rich!

I agree. I finally see a red costume I would play in.......Trini Revellers also made better use of the coque and pheasant feathers in their headpieces than TRIBE. Costumes are nice and prices are great here, but I didn't see anything to really win me over. Dare I say that some of the frontline sections look "Poisonish"? Nevertheless, I still applaud their effort. They got NO HYPE whatsoever and came out to impress. Brilliant!

I also see a similarity in the last red costume's headpiece and the headpiece of the pink costume in TRIBE's 2005 presentation.

I'm loving all the red costumes

trini revellers costumes looking realll good! i might have to jump ship in 2k8! lol!

I agree with u pretty .The yellow custumes looks just like ricco soldato from pioson 2k6.

I love these I am wishing now that i had waited on them. But my friend played with them one year and she told me, they are jus concerned about winning the band of the year title and hence they police u all day. I not for that. ( GET IN YUH SECTION!!!, PUT ON YUH HEAD PIECE!!)lol

The custumes are nice on an overal though.

Kevian, girl, I jumpr ship from Legends for that mess yes. Ian watching yuh hard hard when yuh bout 1/2 mile away from judging point. I tell you, the last thing yuh want is for a brick wall to watch you cut eye!!

Trinidad Carnival Diary said...

I hear Legends was like that, my friend played with them and now she is with Trini Revellers, but she likes that, she likes saying she play in the "band of the year". I really eh able with the poilicing either, I would really have to misbehave! LOL

Saucy yuh ent find that yellow custume is jus like ricco soldato from pioson 2k6?.u have it up on your monday mas post, it's orange. The girls don't have their headpieces there though.

Trinidad Carnival Diary said...

yes, it looks very similar, I remember the headpiece because I really liked that costume..let me go find ah pic with headpiece!

Anonymous said...

Saucy you right, that last red head piece just like the pink head piece from TRIBE the band 2005. I just went and looked at mine :) it is basically the same. I like the costumes and while i do think people should stick to their section when crossing the stage, it looks good, i ain't for nodbody set to rough me up to do it.

Hey Saucy, that is a good discussion topic to have: to get in your section, or not to get in your section...that is the question

I'd like to hear other people's take on it.

Well I jumping in dis one. Steupssssssss..... Get in yuh section yes. To cross. Once yuh done cross, well, wheel and come again selecta. For that kinda money and dat kinda wait I want to cross 3, 4, 5, 6 times. It have band that is all about the lime and those that are about winning. I think the masquerader should choose accordingly. But what I can't stand is when the wabeen band just ups and decide they want to play they following rules. Imagine my surprise a year I playing in Poison and Headly go watch me Carnival MONDAY and start to mumble about people not wearing they costume and they will make the band lose points. And then Meg Cheeks watching him and smiling and asking me where's my costume, trying to soften things up I guess! If I wanted that nonsense I woulda play in a different band!!! Well I START to get on. I start to talk loud to myself about if people want they masqueraders to wear they costume on two days they better give them two costume or at least two panty, like they never hear about yeast infection and how I eh see no Monostat 1 in my goody bag! Well, Mr. Man run way so fast eh!!!!! Better KETCH he Fallin self!

I don't know about the blue costume? is it the models or is it just plain unattractive? And Btw- there is no male outfit to go with the yellow!

Anonymous said...

Well I actually belive that the same people who designed that section in trini revellers designed ricco soldato saucy.

Anonymous said...

Saucy I have a picture of the frontline custume and even that looks similar to their frontline. ( I was in love with that custume ) I find that so rediculus, wait a year or too nah!..lol

Hottie Hottie said...

Imagine dat eh! POISON! POISON! I getting talk in Poison, band what does take whole day to cross the stage. He hadda be smoking. Megs chip off laughing under she breath. I was expecting that kinda ting in Legends, but not in POISON! People breasts sagging down in they cheap Charlotte street underwear and he want me wear that TWO days. Hadda be mad. P.S. Warrior, we love you too :)

Trinidad Carnival Diary said...

kevian that frontline had the same exact backpack like Tribe's frontline Tassel Weeds!!! And yes it looks quite simliar to this backpack as well.

The blue one's cosrset needs to be reworked, I like the belt but something off with the corset.
