Trini Revellers website is up!!

The wait is over people, Trini Revellers website is up and running, finally!!

Only 21 of 36 costumes are up on display, and though there are many costumes several of them belong to the same section; for example D Krewe's Royalty has four different costumes and I see they decided to go with the yellow costume afterall, with some minor changes to the backpack. On a side note, D Krewe has also updated their website and you can view costumes there as well.

I also see they have changed the name of my favourite section, "Royal Court de Versailles" to "House of the Haspburg". I know I am really biased but isn't this costume fabulous!?!:

Here are the website links to some of the special sections listed so far:

Royalty

Declaration of the Rights of Man

Les Fetes Gallantes De Versailles

Paris Brule

Chateau de Versailles

My favourites have not changed; still liking Les Aristocrates, Frost/Hail, House of Hapsburg, Declaration of the Rights of Man and The Royalty. Some of the sections need to be redesigned, good concept but failed in delivery! However I am being nice today, I will not have anything "negative" to say about any of the costumes, but everyone else is free to speak their mind!

I really love that section "House of the Hapsburg" it looks so dainty and yet it could also be sexy as hell.....don't know if you could wine in it all day though! I'm patienty awaiting McFarlane....

I have never been one for costumes with a lot going on...but I love that pink costume. I would play in that section definitely!

I saw the price, but I'm not surprised. I didn't expect all of those cryssies and that fabric to be cheap nah? Look at what other bands are charging for much LESS coverage in a costume! :o There are so many Hapsburg options though. I don't believe they did a good enough job of distinguishing the duchess, queen, etc. There needs to be more close up & detailed costume shots as well. Of ALL the sections!

And Sauce, GOOD champagne ent cheap either! LOL.......

There isn't a pic of the costume with the lil furry coat option or the bustier without the fluff, or even the simpler version of the skirt; you are right Dolli.I did see photos of the different options at the mas camp so maybe they will be posted on the website.

Well, my mom plays with Trini Revellers every year and I want to choose her costume for her for nex year. I didnt really like what she chose las year! She has a fabulous body for 55 years old, so I think she would look great in Paris Brule, Chateau de Versailles, St. Dominique (which i love love love) and Les Aristocrats. Saucy, me ain like dat Declaration of de rights costume at all....i think it's hideous! I LOVE LOVE Les Fetes Gallantes De Versailles...if yuh hear me tryin to pronounce dese names.

Trinidad Carnival Diary said...

Well caisoqueen meh eh like Chateau Versaillies either..LOL :P

Anyways gyul, I feel I like how Kenisha Thom looks in the costume, and the lil one sleeved thingy.. I find it looking ah Jean Paul Gaultier creation :D

My other favs are:

Royalty Blue Sapphire...FRONTLINE of course! ;)
Les Fetes Gallantes
Le Marche in hot pink/fuschia
St Dominique with de ruffle bustle
Frost
and
Chandeliers..It different and unusual. That makes it appealing to moi!

Once again, there are SOOOO many options with these sections. I understand that the site just went up, but they really need to do better and differentiate so that their masqueraders will know precisely what they are paying for.

Caisoqueen, does your mom have a time wid Revellers or wha? I guess so, since she plays every year! What do you think she likes so much about them?

I was not going to say anything eh cause once I have my costume I doh business about other bands. But oh gosh man if its ONE sction that had me gagging was Chandileers.Come nuh man pretti dolli, you really want to go down the road with a light fixture on your head? Why they did not just give a lampshade and call it George.Saucy, I find ALL them costumes looking slight Gaultier eh.
I must give kudos to D'Krewe who actually have a section specifically catering to plus size women. Glad to know that they designed just for the plus size instead of trying to squeeze them into regular sizes. They really want to ensure that their masqueraders look good.

Trinidad Carnival Diary said...

Yes, MUCH props to D Krewe that is a brilliant move on their part.Even though other bands/sections offer wholesuits or tankinis for the fuller figured ladies, very rare is it displayed, and if we do see the option on a model, the model is slim!

Oh, my husband said Chandileers look like you are really wearing a Chandileer on yuh head :D The rest of the cosutme cute though.

"Come nuh man pretti dolli, you really want to go down the road with a light fixture on your head?"
She said come nah man....LOL. Diva dearheart, I said de section was appealing to me and I'm hol'ing meh corner. It different and I usually prefer weird, pushing de envelope, avant guard items that challenge the status quo. It is not de section for me however. I see the ole-still-holding-orn-to-their sexxxxy-battle-axe-crew jumping in this. Ah 'till young and tweet eh! Outside of Hapsberg I'd choose that Blue Sapphire FL or de pink Le Marche sections for myself if I had to. Most people gag over things I purchase but then when I wear it is a different 'tory I guess.....Meh po' po' family still wretching. Gag 'way allyuh! :p

prettidolli, in answer to your question...I jus call mummy to ask what she like bout de band, and she say all her pardnas does play in dat band, so dais where de lime is for dem. Yeah, she has ah time in de band. But hear dis nah, she wear de people and dem costume in de mud band for DC carnival dis year hahahahaha...... I guess she didn't really like it, or maybe she loved it so much she decided to wear it again. In any event she was ah hit! Gotta love her...true true Carnival Baby!

Oh hor...........Thanks Caisoqueen!

I also love this section. If I was playing in this band, this short version would do it for me. As to if you can wine in it all day -- gyul, take another look -- it short enough to wine down to de ground, sideways and back up. Take a couple good stiff drinks and see nah! Let me tell you, I have played mas with a lot of clothes also and when tempo hit, girl, yuh find all kinda cute ways to hitch up all de cloth on de costume and still look sexy as hell. Ah now imagining meself doing a nice French backwards wine. Lawd fadda!

Anonymous said...

LOL @ law. Law, gyul, how does a French backwards wine differ from a Ole Time backwards wine, or a Saharan backwards wine?

Anonymous said...

Dais ah good question cb. Tell we nah?

But in trut', de ting so sexy ah rude gyal go lift it up and take TIME tuh WINE okayyyyy?
