First of all, Saucy, thanks a lot for adding me!
But is a set of bachannal fuh true!!! Trinis, eh? Well, I'm praying for the Savannah to stay open until AFTER Carnival. I dunno why Manning gettin on so, oui? But on the other hand, I don't want to get my hopes up about it. The last thing I need is to come home to Carnival sour about the situation, particularly one that I have no control over - especially for my first experience!
Well, daz all ah go say fuh now. God bless.

OOHHH, Cheaper Chicken! *thumbs up* J/K I see "No Stage, No panorama* It's about time someone from the trenchs show this gov't some balls. 2 months to go and no real plans are set, no route for the parade, no venue or other plans for the other national Carnival events taking place. What gives? I would've felt better if they had started construction and people can see some progress in the savannah, but there is NONE! Don't tell me "no stage" for thet carnival events and then sit and do nothing but drive the journalists crazy with stories to report. DO SOMETHING!

ooh, where's my manners? Good Morning and Happy Friday fellow bloggers. :-)

Like dey say..."Pressha does buss pipe". No Panorama fuh Carnival....cyah see dat happenin! I am optimistic... I truly feel that will win dis fight...and we will have a stage...to save Panorama dis year and for us to parade on "one more time" for "one more wine". Makes absolute sense since dey so blasted lackadaisical (my lawdd...excuse de spellin)

Do these people realize that these headlines are being viewed worldwide and will have a big impact on the many visitors that come to our shores for carnival (and I do not mean the locals living abroad). There are a number of people who for years went to Brazil for carnival, but after experiencing our Trini carnival they never looked back. And now this MESS, I am certain people would rather go where there is organization and enjoy themselves than make a trip to Trinidad to be disappointed by this SHIAT that our gov't has created.
I am lead to believe that there is more to this not holding mas on the Big Stage. Why are they so adamant that we cannot cross nor have panorama in the savannah. WHY!
There obviously no where else seeing that they had nothing put in place???????

I don't see the big deal in moving Panorama to South for one year if necessary. Indeed, it is probably more convenient for most of the north band to have Panoroma hosted in the Savannah. But if it is not available I think Skinner's Park should be the next best thing. Weren't the South organizers offering more prize money or something?

They are eager to share out the money and kick backs before general elections. They want to make sure that thier pockets are properly lined. Contracts need to be awarded so fire bun culture. They taking lessons from bandits and theffing in big way

i'm not into the whole political tnt thing...cause to me it's just All bogus!

But i read that Manning's home town is S'Fndo! Is this why they are so adamant now...2 months b4 carnival to tear down the grand stand?

Alexia, the PLAN IS to have the Panorama semi's IN THE SAVANNAH, and the finals at Skinner's Park IN SAN FERNANDO. Why people (not you Alexia) are STILL CONFUSED about this?

MAKE the blasted plan WORK. All this hand wringing and threats should STOP, FUH REAL. I am not this Government’s apologist, but this bacchanal is NOT entirely the Government's mess. It's the damm Trinidad disarray and last minute mentality (oh, ah doh fool myself either, sometimes (just once or twice) ah get afflicted with the same problem...lol).

In Keith Smith’s column in the T&T Express today, he quoted a Lloyd Best’s steelpan state of affairs address five years (yes, FIVE YEARS) ago…, ”[For]…an activity that…commands huge energies, consumes an extraordinary amount of talent, skill, organization and management, involves constant initiative, innovation and management...and plays a huge social, civic, and even [an] economic role…, [p]an, in many ways, remains stunted, underdeveloped and a source of frustration and futility….”

It seems like he gave that address last week!!!???

And then, Keith Smith’s closing lament, “[s]o much to do, man, including weeks before the first Panorama note finding a place to stage it. Is the disrespect, man, is the disrespect.”

Brother, ah feel yuh.

Allyuh, we took D CULTURE to Germany and had them people wining down the place (even if outta time). Trinidad and Tobago was by far the BEST display of culture AND a NATIONAL JOI D’VIVRE at the venues they attended at the Germany hosted World Cup 2006. We moving, FORWARD. LehWE GO nah man! Ah tired ah allyuh STICKING!!!

Back to the music: the hottest song (this seems to be on nobody’s radar) for me so far, for Carnival 2007 is “You Got It” by Denise Belfon. I would love to hear this on pan in a full orchestration (Boogsie, yuh hearing meh?). It go be madness in de place!!! Look meh!!!

I was one of those people and I just might become one AGAIN...Steups!
