Outta Body, Back to yourself now!!

Even though I got home in the wee hours of this morning I had to get my butt up early as I have a long day ahead today, still have lots to get done. So I ended up going to Girl Power last night, I have some friends who are here from Detroit and you know once the “Yankees” are here they like to sponsor everyone for the lime and who am I to refuse a free ticket.

It has been a few years since I last went Girl Power and I was glad to see Machel has been added to what is really a somewhat boring lineup. To me Girl Power is just one of those fetes where everyone dresses up, and stands around looking pretty in their stilettos. However on a Carnival Friday night I find the options are somewhat limited, as Soca Monarch was the other big event taking place last night.

Needless to say I had a ball at Girl Power!! It was THE best Girl Power I have ever been to and finally people, I have caught the Jumbie. At first the song did nothing for me, but it has officially taken over my Carnival spirit and hands down it is going to be road march!!And I was not one of those chicks in stilettos, though there were some interesting outfits last night to say the least, I wore shoes that I could jump up and get on bad in!Good thing the hubby was home resting, me and the girls put a new definition to Girl Power !

As for Soca Monarch I am pleased to hear that Sherwayne has been dethroned; the results are as follows:

Groovy Soca Monarch
1st- Biggy Irie
2nd- Mr. Chucky
3rd- Nadia Batson
4th- Shurwayne Winchester

Power Soca Monarch
1st- Iwer George
2nd- Nadia Batson and Kees
3rd- Shurwayne Winchester
4th-Patrice Roberts

The only thing is I heard there were lots of fights at Soca Monarch, hope all who went were safe.

I too am very pleased that ShurLAME didn't win... but he still placed too high. I really wanted to see JW & Bionic Blaze Eat A Food. Congrats to Iwer who really performed well and much love to Nadia Batson. She really deserves the recognition.

I nearly dead after all the dong de road'in. lol. But seriously, I had a realllllly good time- no violence, no negativity, only wildness and good vibes!

STEUPS. I went Cascadia today with my friends to collect their costumes and to do some adjustments one time (Waistband too big, as were arm pieces and even the damn necklace). Simple enough adjustments but for that price they might as well make sure the damn thing fitting properly. So I get damn well vex when some woman tell me that they cah do the adjustments- but it's amazing how quickly a proper screw pan can get you courteous attention and service. They very nearly hear my mouth- as it was I just told the idiot in question that after I paid $3000 for my costume, there was no way in hell they could tell me that they cah move some velcro. Eh eh. I damn well still vex, doh mind the guy doing the adjustments decided he liked me and offered to adjust everything meticulously.

south-reds...i was there today too eh...study how I stayed all but 3 minutes when I saw that damn line for costume adjustments...

I good...I will fix my mix with that on a solo mission, yes. I knew it was a bad idea when the lady at the gate told me that there was NO costume adjustment centre here. A TRIBE official told me that.

I had to ask her if she was joking or really of anal-retentive nature. **steups**
Gosh boy, ah need a drink after Cascadia yes! hahahahahha

i went to crobar last night - it was like carnival tuesday inside of there. if you see people!

and it was a full party - people liming and wining and dancing until the wee hours of the morning.

and when the fireworks started from the soca monarch the crowd went wild. a couple doors down at squeeze, the mood was much the same. there were people piling up from the bars to the pavements to the road.

and i feeling the jumbie too. i readddyyyy!

I was there (in the VIP girl! LOL). Nadia dserved to win. I get so discouraged sometimes when I see the sexism that always prevails in soca. Amazing.
