Did you get the email?

A concerned blogger sent me this email last week, and today it again popped up in my inbox from one of my friends . This was was a coincidence since I heard Paul and Nikki on their radio programme discussing said rumours and allegations this morning. Now I am quite skeptical to believe that this is true seeing that the popular soca artiste in question would know better, in my estimation, than to physically assault a fan! And I am sure that it would have made legitimate news if it were true as the victim has enough grounds to seek legal action and get some money for her troubles knowing that this particular artiste is one of the highest paid in the business. So I am more inclined to think that someone is up to mischief more than this entire incident actually happened yet no one has come forward to back up these claims in some form of media.

For those of you who got the email you know who the allegations are made against and for those who did not, well I think I gave you enough clues to figure it out! I don't want anyone suing me for libel so I will not name names. You can read, digest and come to your own conclusions but the email is making the rounds and if it is not true will only serve to smear the name of the entertainer, which is a shame seeing as he has such big things on the horizon!

This is something that i experienced personally.
While playing mas in island people this year (great band!) i saw many famous faces including brian lara, chinese laundry jenna marie andre, jeanille from tempo and ______ ______. ______ played in a section called sahara jumbie which was directly after my section called cacti.

One of the ladies who played in my section saw _____ in the band and immediately ran up to him and started winning. She had a drink in her hand and the drink spilled on ______'s back.

To my horror and dismay ______ ______ pushed the lady so hard that she almost fell and then proceeded to slap her. There were some men in the band (supposedly his bodyguards) and they held him back but he was cussing and looking around to find the girl to fight her. ______ ______ wanted to fight with a girl, he wanted to hit a woman! and we tell our youths when they find themselves in a similar situation to walk away and here he is wanted to beat up a woman.

Shame on you Mr. __. I have lost all respect in you as a person and an entertainer.

Pass this around to everyone u know. This is a true true account of what happened. I saw it with my own to eyes and ask anyone who played mas in the cacti or sahara jumbie section on tuesday. The incident occured around lunch time or so by the holy name convent school on charlotte street while the band was awaiting to cross the savannah stage.

Oh My Word!

I feeling just a little (much) disgusted, and I hope that the story is not true. Guess we will have to wait and see what happens, right?

HMMMMM! I rel hope dat nah true boi. If so dais a damn shame.

One of my best friends went up to said artist in the band on both days, and I must report that he AND his security was MOST gracious.

Until that woman comes forward and can accuse him to his face I'm not buying this ONE LICK!!!!

I have been to many of this person's performances and have seen him stop his show because of unsavory behavior from the crowd, especially against women.

If this turns out to be true then I will have to look at him in a different light; but if it turns out to be false then it will prove to be just another example of the crabs in the bucket theory.

Sad in either case.

Hey sauce funny I had just fwd the email in question asking if it was fake and then I noticed you had already posted on the subject

I personally automatically assumed it was fake and spam, I am sure after the person in question's extensive career and success they would know better.

but ya this email has even reahced us up here in the freezing zone

Not dat ah saying it's true eh...cause I figure something like dat woulda make a news...BUT dey are known at times to be a Divo...esp when dey higher dan high.

Sauce, if you are not sure it is true, why did you do a post on it?
Do you need so much attention, that you needed to do a post on something that may or may not be true?

Now if it turned out to be true, then sure, do a post on it?
But tarnishing people's reputations on the sake of a rumour?...shame on you.

Normally I would not respond to the "anonymous" comments as I realise what is posted is just to elict a reaction. However in my defense I did not state who the email was written about, persons who had heard the rumours wanted to know what was written and I decided to comment on it in a post.

I don't have to rehash that this is my blog, a diary and hence I can write about whatever I feel like, that fact never seems to get through to some people who read the blog. It is going to be biased of course because it is MY opinion an d not everyone shares it.

But let me just say that the topic was discussed publically on the radio yesterday morning and no one called the station and accused them of spreading rumours when they called NAMES.So please, get off the soap box and don't give me any credit for tarnishing anyone's reputation!

good morning everybody
you know i was wondering about that. was glacing through the cbox and trying to put 2 and 2 together.

in saucy's defense there was no mention of who. so if that event did occur, then shame shame!!!

however i would very much like to give the individual the benefit of the doubt. i really hope that its just a rumour though. never really spoken to the individual but have been to a lot of the individual's's concerts overseas and at home. doesn't strike me as that type.

have a wonderful week all.

OMG can you believe some people. So the anon person is reading the thing, then goes on to comment about it? people should know better by now.
Anyway I'm not sure if it matters if its true or not because its not going to make a big difference in people's reaction towards him come carnival 2008. Now for 5 mins the gossip is is all 'oooh' so unless something concrete comes out of it.....

Why ppl so? Wasn't there JUST RECENTLY a poll about Trolls? Mercy! lol...I think it's been established that we will have to wait and see what happens on this situation, and not grant such accusations the merit of truth UNTIL concrete evidence supports otherwise. Nothing tarnished.

Hi Saucy,
I had a fantastic time in T&T. It was my second time and I had a blast. I played in Nubians chapter with Island people and the experience was unbelievable.

OK! Until that woman can come forward openly, I refuse to believe this mess. Saucy, the highlight of my carnival was being able to take a picture with MACHEL. I asked his security and they said it was ok. I took the pic with him and he was quite fine.

He was laughing/talking/drinking and mingling with the masqueraders on both days. He did not reject anyone so I refuse to believe that nonsense. Now if she said his security ruffed up that woman I may...may believe it, but until I see the pictures showing proof, I don't believe the allegation.

Saucy is not too be blame for sharing information with her community. She's keeping me and everyone around the world informed. If you don't like what she talks/writes about don't visit the page.

Saucy will you be giving us some details about Grenada’s carnival in August? thinking about visiting.

Nicky

Nicky,
I will try to get as much info on Grenada Carnival, and all Carnivals as a matter of fact that I can get my hands on!

Thanks for post Saucy, I was curious about the details of the email when everyone was talking yesteday.
I knew the person i question a long time ago, quite well actually from about '87 to about '97, but we lost touch.

I believe part of it could be true.
Not b/c I knew him a decade ago but from watching him interact w/ his band and sound people this past season. I kept pointing out to my husband how he was constantly 'buffing' them while on stage performing (especially at PNM fete). He seemed like a perfectionist (an ok thing) and as though they were not up to par (that night).

So I tend to think he could have pushed the 'fan' when she spilled the drink (a semi-normal reaction), but I doubt he would try to slap or fight someone for such a small infraction.

Still a big fan of his work, and I have learned that in music (and other populat art forms) to separate the artist and the art from the person.

I too played in IP and when my friends and I saw him on the road hhe loooked like he had no cares in the world. He was with his woman laughing and having a good time. And when some fans stopped and asked for pix, he obliged. One of my girlfriends asked security if he would take a pic with her and he did it without a frown. Then we saw him after his performance at Zen and one of my American friends, who visited Trini for the first time, went up to him to compliment him on his performance and ended up chatting with him for like 5 minutes. He then took pictures with all of us and gave hugs and kisses. My friends and I are the farthest things from groupies. I guess he was able to tell the difference..lol.

I realy don't know if its true but it very well could be because it wouldn't be the first time this "entertainer" was accused of such violent behaviour and i have seen it in person. Maybe it didint occur to such the extent as described but it's quite possible

Everyone is saying they won't believe it until this anonymous person comes forward.

Hmmm, let's see...stay anonymous and keep one's sanity or speak out and have people call you a liar, crab in a barrel and generally badmouth you.

Speak out against certain people in Trinidad and yuh likely to be banned from the island for life. Better she say something bad 'bout the prime minister. LMAO.

If I was her, I wouldn't say anything either.

I don't know what to say nuh. I've always heard mixed reviews about said person's attitude. If it was true why didn't more people would tell the story say....Ash Wednesday. I believe something this severe would've made headlines being that so many people were around. I really don't know. I can't put my head on a block for anybody I don't know these days.
