Good AM! This is my first day reading your blog from Last Tuesday. Saucy there is a bug going around in NEW YORK and it caught up with me. For Three days I was in my bed shivering, lost my voice and MACHEL SHOW WAS starting to look like it was going to past me by. Girl! I went to my mother’s house and I stayed in her bed and she took good care of me with BUSH. My mother boiled bush for me and I never sweat like that in my life. Friday AM was here and my mother thought I was out of my mind, but MACHEL was coming alive again and I could not miss this session.
Saucy I could not miss MACHEL In the garden….. All the comments everyone written so far are 100% accurate. He had the place jumping from START to END. Many people talk about DOUG E FRESH at he second show, but we had DAVID RUDDER at the first show. THE OLD! THE YOUNG! AND the in BETWEEN were on their feet jumping HIGHER THAN HIGH. That man can still perform.
I had a blast and Saucy, am not attracted to Machel (well at least I thought so), when that boy came out in his suit, well that was the end for me. I AM A MACHEL GROUPIE as of FRIDAY night.
My only negative comment about the show…….. THE STAGE was too SMALL.

Yes, yuh Dolli was gifted with tix, went to de show, and had ah nice, nice time.....She and she Bombay Sapphire. My review, short-n-sweet:
1. I LOVE meh some Drupatie Ramgoonai boi.
2. My body is now sore, I was violated grossly and against mah will. Too many dry humps, too lil' time...I WON'T just givvve mehself away to some ah allyuh horndogs. If asked with or without yuh, guess which I'd choose? Walter did some SERIOUS pelvic thrusting, my GAWD!
3. My nasal passages were blessed with the horrid stench of someone's VERY stale corkscrew curl weave, thus confirming my belief that on certain occassions, the venue may just as well be called Mampies So Ghetto. Folks were well behaved though. They displayed ah lil' TNT broughtupsy.
4. Sarce, I saw three of you and Prince Namor's lil' sailor pickney on the stage.
5. Hello again, Trini Jungle Juice!
6. I want ah ride on that nice, red big truck papa...So I can CHARGGGGGGGGGGGE! Toro, toro!
Doug E Fresh was great....Didn't know of his heritage being Trini. I knew he was WI, but that was about all she wrote. I can't believe he's still beat boxing after all of these years. And so well! Remember when he used to battle the "Fat Boys"? :p I can actually accept Little Vicious singing about condoms now that he's grown. I couldn't STAND it when he was younger.
I thought the show was "cute" and well crafted, but I don't believe it was the be all and end all that people are carrying on about. The dude calls me a "theater snob", so oh well, whatever. But I am proud of Machel, he exuded so much charisma and charm. I'm not a huge, huge fan of his, but I went to support the cultchah. He did well, and for this I am thankful. I didn't know he was a UN Goodwill Ambassador representing Trinidad and Tobago. Get down boi go 'head get down!

Machel is on his way to a bigger internation audience. He does have plenty of charisma, music writing skills (good that he has dialed down the beats per minute just a notch and found a nice balance to keep his voice as Soca pace setter), and I only have best wished for him. The show was quite good, and I agree with your tempered assessment (no, I am not mamaguying here :D)
The show that won my heart and MIND this year is "The 3Canal Bacchanal Show 2007" Now, THAT is the theatrical show I desparately want to bring to New York City!

oh gosh Dougla_1 - I agree completely about the 3canal Bacchanal show. I was absolutely floored when I had the privilege to witness their show in TNT this carnival. I am still praying they release a dvd of that show! I would LOVE to see those boys in a venue like MSG!

Dougs I see that 3 Canal show every yr. You are SO RIGHT! I'd be there in ah HEARTBEAT! With drink in hand...It does help to set de mood rhelllllllll sweet.
LOL Ampy and yuh multiple bar trips. Yuh know they only does let yuh bring in 2 drinks per person. They doh know 'bout slackness..LOL.
I still say NIX the FROWSY hair! :(
