Amid rumors on Facebook that TRIBE’s costumes have already been on display and seen by persons who allegedly broadcasted this fact on the radio (96.7FM) I did some investigating of my own to get to the bottom of this story. Consequently several interesting tid bits of information were revealed in my quest:
*Costumes are in the first stages of design and screening.
*Loyal customers will again be rewarded with the T.L.C. card….process begins in May/June!
*Expect costumes with wings (as many of you have been begging for) as well as beautiful and unique headpieces with lots of feathers!
*Band launching will be SOONER rather than later; no date revealed as yet.

Wow Saucy - you are really on top of this. I so want to come to Trinidad for Carnival '08 and will love to jump up with Tribe again so I really crossing my fingers. But this sounds great - I wanted a costume with wings :) TLC Cards are coming out early wow. Can't wait to see the date of the band launching. I'm planning on coming to Trinidad again soon and I would LOVE to be there for the band launching - right now I am thinking the end of May. When was the band launching last year, I think later in the year.

anon I don't think the launch will be in JUNE, but earlier than the normal August might be possible.. and Shandy.. if the launch takes place in lets say.. July.. then it makes sense to organise TLC cards from May or June. ;)

Also, since last year was my first year I don't know about the whole TLC card thing. Exactly who do they offer it to and does that include the overseas masqueraders? I've *heard* you mention it before Saucy, but what exactly does it entitle you to?
Well the TLC was conceptulised last year and initally was to give preference to masqueraders who played in 2006 to register first for 2007. Following that would have been masqueraders who played in 2005 and then registration would be open to the general public.
What ended up happening was that everyone who played in both 2005 and 2006 got a TLC card/number and could register as soon as registration became available both online and at the mas camp. As you can see sections did not sell out up until Carnival!
I do not know what the situation will be like this year as last year we were assured that each person with a TLC would get a costume albeit not your first choice if the section was sold out.
So chances are you should get a TLC card having played with TRIBE this year.
Sauce you know I'll be there! same time (maybe even before depending on the hype) and yes, I'll be bringing drinks too!!
