The first photos of Genesis launch of their 2008 Carnival presentation "Tales" which unfortunately coincided with the launch of Pulse 8 on Sunday, can be seen at

From those photos the Halloween costume award goes to the Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow replica and the most unusual costume is the one legged, fur trimmed silver body suit, I am still trying to figure out what it is really! Check out the photos to see the rest.

I must say!! this band lost direction a long time now but 2k8 I think is looking better than 2k7 I hope them all the best.
Well, jt, except for your TRIBE "band of the year" dreaming, I have to totally agree with you ;) Though, for 2k8 it appears their costumes are quite conservative, for some reason I see a nice focused, cohesive attentiveness to what they are presenting (I still do not know what the "Tales" theme is about, but that doesn't really matter for me at this point)
For 2k7, I believe Genesis wanted to "shock" people to the precipice of their "naked" bikini mas. So maybe, dialing back could be necessary to find the balance of what they want to represent as a band for years to come. I think they will always have their strong men and rude girls, but the provocative rude girls should only be some spices to their "callaloo," not the whole pot.

I ABSOLUTELY love LOVE this presentation I find they experiment with materials other than bead and feather. I like the materials. I see lots of fur. I see playful asymetry. a creative mix of fabric and material. the colors aren't too jarring and not too much. I think on the road, this band will look great. It has an intimate small creative band flavor to it that isn't lost in Big band melee.

I don't see the tails, tho I see lots of wings (i guess dais the 08 theme seein' as nearly every band come with at least one winged costume)
i wish I coulda gotten the names. I guess that only comes with Saucy coverage. *frown*
