I got my boots!

So after hearing from Carnival Jumbie that Natalie's boots have doubled in price, now starting at $600.00TT I started seriously looking online at alternate footwear. If you want the whole low down on why Natalie's prices have raised take a read of Carnival Jumbie's blog.

Anyway, there I was feverishly searching my favourite sites for boots and by the way Overstock.com has some great footwear and good prices, I ended up at Amazon.com and found this pair of boots for a grand total of $15.00US!! It was exactly what I was looking for which is a knee high pair of wedge boots that fit the calves snug as my calves are skinny, and it looks comfortable. The ONLY thing I do not like is the fur, since I am thinking it might be too warm but it is fur TRIMMED so that means it is not lined with fur and I can, with much patience, remove the fur. I think a pair of scissors and a razor blade will do the trick.

I intend to spray the entire boot in gold and then decorate it from there since I already have an idea of what I want the finished product to look like.

There are other colours in a similar style for more money such as this brown one which will go quite well with Island People's Bear costume:

remember too that many of these snow boots are insulated on the inside. I real vex now I did not try on them Nike boots like I wanted to just to get a good feel.

I read the description and it didn't say fur lined so I am hoping it is not insulated. But if it is I only spend 15 bucks ah go sell it on EBAY LMAO

Saucy don't even worry about the fur. The boots I played in last 2 years have fur on the inside as well as trim and all that did was make the inside softer and more comfy. At the end of the day the sun burning hot even on yuh naked skin, there is nothing that is going to make you cool so if you've found the style/color/price you like go w/ it!

glad u got ur boots saucy. i also have a similar pair to those; they're great!!

I also dont find them to be particularly hot even if the inside has extra padding, which is usually what it is for the simpler cheaper boos.

Can't wait to hear how your design goes....

I'd keep them as they are, wouldn't spray paint them, they look good as is, fur & all.
