Makeup Looks and Tips for a Waterproof Face

Airbrush make up is not the only way to have a "sweat free" face come Carnival. I have been doing some research on products recommended by makeup artists to help your makeup stay on your face during the heat of the day and combined with sweat and misting zones:

All the looks are from Sephora and though the products are not always cheap, think of it as investment in long term beauty as you have the makeup for future use. Click on the highlighted links to take you to the Sephora page with instructions as well as information on all products used.

Look #1 - Waterproof Makeup

My product picks for this look are the eye seal which transforms regular eye makeup into waterproof makeup, waterproof eyeliner and mascara to avoid "raccoon eyes" and the waterproof lipgloss for a long lasting all day shine.

Makeup Look #2 - Smoky Eye

Makeup Look #3 - Shimmery Fairy

I am loving the Frederic Fekkai sparkling shimmer spray for the hair, so perfect for Carnival!

Some more great looks can be found at Sephora, click this link.

Waterproof products recommended by the pros:

Face:
Clinique Almost Makeup
Clinique Superfit Makeup
Clinique Non Streak Bronzer (for very light coverage)
Almay Moisture Tint
Era Face Spray on Foundation
Model in a Bottle

Eyes &Brows
Lancome Aquatique - base for eyeshadow
Lancome Le Stylo Eyeliner
Makeup Forever Eyeliner
Clinique Touch of Tint
Clarins Fix Mascara
Loreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara
Clinique Brow Keeper

suhweeeeet. I love the shimmer spray. I started getting some ideas and buying pieces for my makeup look this weekend. Next weekend I think I'll do a trial look.

*shaking me purse only to get two sweetie and a phone number* ohhh wait, dats my number.

I only seeing foreign name for so.
I have a Trini purse with money that only do second vacations. De money here one second and it gone to another destination.

A suggestion might be to look and see what de local Sasha in Trinidad has to offer.

Or purchase de very essentials: one really good waterproof foundation that matches your skin colour (it makes no sense wasting money on the wrong colour, only for you to look like de living dead, because you want something long lasting on ya face), waterproof mascara and liner.

Tip: If you love Carnival as much as I do, Carnival can be one hell of a expensive experience.

As soon as this Carnival is over, take stock of how much money you spent this Carnival.

For next year's event, you may want to invest in opening up an additional savings account as soon as possible, one that you don't have to have an ATM card. A Money Market Fund interest account might be the thing.

Place a standing order instructing the bank to take a small amount every month on your account that your salary comes in, so you don't miss it when it is transfered to the account and you don't spend it in your monthly bills.

(check your bank for details)

By the time next year Carnival comes along, you would have money for all your events, fetes, costume, cooler limes, boots, makeup, food, drinks etc.

Keep in mind, what you spent this year, the cost WILL go up next year. So put a little extra in de kitty for such increases.

And if you don't play Carnival, think of it as Rainy Day Money or Extra money for Vacation/Retirement. But the best part, you are not in dept for the whole year because of Carnival.

Sacha has Fix IT Spray and their Kamaflage (sic) makeup though apart from the Fix It spray I do not use any of their products. You can also try the M.A.C. store or Clinique products at Stetchers and West Mall. I have not looked for waterproof eye shadows etc. in Trinidad but I am getting the Makeup Forever products. I look at it as something I will use all year through 

Oh I know how much Carnival costs! In addition to my costume my Carnival expenses are easily totaling an extra 2000.00(TT). Hey it’s an expense I cater for when I do my annual budget.
