I know many of you would have noticed TRIBE's distribution schedule listing a section called "Green Water Spirit". I have heard that section is for the sponsor Heineken, so I am guessing it has been reserved for their folks.
So, what are your feelings on this "secret section"? For me it does not bother me one way or the other as Harts used to have a Carib section when I played with them and as a masquerader you would only see the cosutme on Carnival Tuesday. That is of course if you were not part of the Carib posse lol. And I did notice Pall Mall, another TRIBE sponsor, had costumes for their "people" last year:

If I were a big sponsor and wanted to have a section specifically for my people and the band was cool with that why not? That is the trade off for having a Heineken Cool Zone truck and Heineken on the road instead of STAG!! Anyway for those who missed out on TRIBE because the band was sold out quickly, or those in another section who feel they should have all options for choice or even those not playing with the band what do you think about Green Water Spirit?

umm ok so pall mall was a 'secret section'? I thought that is just what they give the girls to wear to promote like how the Carib girls have their different kits for different occasions.I don't think there were enough in Pall Mall to quantify it as a section. The fact that green water spirit has enough people to have a scheduled distribution day indicates that it has a certain size.
Funnily enough i know a sponsor who found out day before that she did not have a costume period and she knew nothing of green water anything.
Nha I never say it was a secret section, just that a sponsor last year gave their people costumes to wear.. maybe that is where the brilliant idea came from for Green Water Mist :P
Not a problem with it, sponsors pay big money for us to eat and drink free, this i guess is their roi. Little question though, if i absolutely CANNOT make it on my collection day, what other day can i go, any other day? overseas collection? (i'm in t'dad)
candy, call Tribe or the Digicel Hotline..they will assist you :)
If sponsors were paying big money for me to drink and eat free then why is my costume still so blasted expensive??? I actually had it in my head to do a material costing for my costume and see how much they diggin out my eye.
If the costume looks like a real costume and comes with all the Tribe perks. Not some hot shorts, bra top and headpiece then I think the sponsor should certainly have X amt of reserved spots in that section.
The balance of spots could be sold to the public. But again if it isn't a real costume, I want no part of it.
Dat Pall Mall section looking tres horrible.
