Evoultion letter

I would LOVE anyone who played in Evolution to please send me a review. News reaching me is that costume collection was a nightmare of epic proportions; reports of costumes not being boxed and masqueraders being assigned costume pieces from off the floor, masqueraders being placed in alternate sections (as sections were not in Trinidad for delivery), lines outside the mas camp for entry into the mas camp, costumes not being ready on Carnival Sunday.. so if you played with Evolution I would appreciate a review. Here is the letter Evolution sent out to their masqueraders:

Hello Everyone,

On behalf of Evolution Carnival Band, I would like to extend my most heartfelt appreciation to all of you who supported the band for Carnival 2008.

I know that the journey started off on a very rocky note, but I do hope that everyone did ultimately enjoy themselves on the Road.

Thanks to all of you, the band placed fifth overall in the Large Band Category, which is an extreme achievement for its first time out on the road.

We realised that alot of things should have been better organised and alot of negative occurrences could have been avoided with earlier planning. Please trust however that a thorough evaluation of all of these matters will be done and recitfied for next year.

We are also encouraging everyone to please email us with feedback and suggestions on how we could make things better for you our valued masqueraders.

Please email me with all of your questions, concerns and suggestions. It will be our greatest honour to receive them.

Respectfully yours,

Your Carnival buddy,

Shynnelle

it was only the tanatalize in teal section that faced complications. the distribution was poorly organised.

but other than that EVOLUTION redeemed the situatuion on both carnival monday and tuesday. i have to give them their due props. shynelle was cool and i thanked her personally.

i would definately jump with them again. (just not in that section. lol)

Shynnelle was a sweetheart and to be the front person when all this chaos was going on I definitely commend her on her professionalism. I witnessed the red section and Blue section still being manufactured while I was in line. My section wasn't complete. some fella named Freeland Kabul (Sp?) (I think thats the name I heard, you know alcohol is a hell of a drug) is the alleged sabotagee of the band. Eustace giving one of his designers a credit card to buy material that was rejected. There was alot of bullish behind the scenes and alot of promises were not kept. Anyway..check us out on the Wining Kriminal Blog. My review is there.

damn. i didnt know about all of that...

...i read the wining kriminal blog. i had a feelin they were amongst us. i heard guys analysing the ladies bumsees...

i can only speak on my personal experience and carnival is what you make of it.

the only thing EVOLUTION lacked on is eye candy for the ladies. considering the gold guys there had in their launch. there were very little in our band.

*after reading the blog* Sad to say, everything that was said is correct. However, my section Green with Envy was right on time, although collection was Saturday.

Yes the goodie bag was a small pack of glitter, lip balm and a sample packet of body oil. But like Wining Kriminals said, I play carnival not for the goodie bag, but for the love of Mas.

I think what this story was missing was de Lunch break. We nearly had World War 18, when after getting pushed out of de line that was not even a line,(thank god I am calm being), everyone on all four sides of one TENT that served lunch comprised of chicken, rice, some pasta ting, only after jumping up from 7:30am to 2pm, only to hear the shouts and cursing from security to security, people to people, ALL DE MEAT DONE.

Now I did thank Curtis for a good Tuesday, cause Tuesday was a good jump up. BUT he will have to organize de drinks truck (which had no Bailey's and LLB, now dat hurt) de security, de food and maybe A BETTER goodie bag.

I am Malicious Jade and ya don know.
