Saldenah Launch photos...

You can view photos from the launch of Louis Saldenah's Caribana 2008 presentation "The Deep" on toronto-lime.com.

Interesting costumes but no hint of the theme whatsoever in any of the designs! Happy to see that the "green" costume uses what looks like a regular bra, it really makes a difference in the fit for the ladies.

Saldenah really disappoint this year. The costumes are just average. Reminiscent of years passed. And I still don't see the theme. I was really expecting more.

The green costume...for some reason remind me of a pineapple that ain ripe yet.

i am really liking the purple and aqua section. i like the black and gold. i also like the green section, but the belt seems to not flatter the models...which brings me to a point that i would like to discuss: is it just me or do some of the costumes seem to be ill-fitting on some models in some bands? this point that i am raising is not to point fun of the physique of the models, but to add possible critique as to how the costumes do not seem to give the physique of the model justice...which, at the end, could possibly deter possible masqueraders...

I have to say, that thou the costumes are not UBER FANTASTICO....they still continue with those huge waistbands, HOWEVER, I am pleasantly surprised at what I'm seeing from them this year.

The purple and aqua section is the best section to me. The Xpats section is nice too but only the frontline.

I guess the fit is because the costumes usually attempted to be properly fitted. And certain body types dont work well with certain types of costumes...like me...I have a high, big bottom...so the cotumes that have a straight waistband that supposed to sit on the hip never look right on me - my bottom higher than my hip...lol...so it always high on the back and low on the front. Yet the ones that have a V shape in front fit better.

I was at the band launch this year and I really enjoyed the costumes that were different, like Christines section they had two solid colours ( red and blue) with a completly different style of bra. They were very sexy looking, and the belts resemble a skirt which I like ( hides all the right places :) ) but still looks hot!
