Men and Mas....

Does it not seem like the focus of all these band launches and costume previews is showcasing the female costume? There is usually so much hype over the beads and sequins of the hot female sections, yet very little chatter over the male costumes. It has gotten to the point where many bands only showed female costumes at the launch last year, not to mention that male costumes never even made it unto some websites!

Last year several of the readers of this blog were upset that the male costumes of popular bands seemed to be an afterthought, paling in comparison to the females. They went so far as to start a petition for one band to change their male costumes:
Many men (including significant others to some females) are displeased with the costumes and either don't want to play with Tribe or worse, at all.
So, I would like to get some feedback to find out if men really care about getting a fabulous costume and do women like to see men in sexy costumes? Submit your vote below and feel free to leave a comment:

When it comes to male costumes...
A pair of board shorts and a T shirt is all that is needed.

Men should have just as nice costumes as females.

Nothing too elaborate: no feathers or embellishments is perfect.

Real men do not wear costumes!

I want a pimp hat, and some of those superhero bands for my wrist and a utility belt, like batman. I don't really need a cape, but if it looking good I might wear it.

Mixed feelings. I like to know for the money ah paying that some miniscule consideration is being given to me. I dont want no costume that have meh looking like a clown or feminine. Last year the Crocodile ting wasnt no scene.....ah cut off piece ah d tail on d headpiece to make it more comfortable, but by d time ah cross d first stage d whole headpiece was thrown away. By d time ah reach d next corner do chest part was pelt away too because it was causing logistal problems when trowing waist. So in reality all fellas like me need is pants, d jock strap guard for bulging objects and a wristband. BUT still design a decent looking costume fuh we. ah go wear it for the first hour or so and take meh glamour pics.

I feel the men deserve to be featured just as much as the women. Although their costumes aren't as pricey as the females, they're still paying customers and deserve to have quality costumes. Designers might want to take a serious look at how men are featured for carnival. A variety of costume designs may equal more men. I surely doan want no set ah bress wining up on meh backside. Spice might want to rethink that "all female" section. That sound suspect to me, but I digress.
