Saynora till Sunday!!

My camping days are over, as I was sipping my coffee this morning the Security Guard here at Cascadia informed me that registration will NOT be tomorrow as I previously thought but the new date for TLC card holders is on SUNDAY.

Well, imagine my frustration at all this waiting in VAIN!! I simply cannot stay here for three days straight so I am on my way home:

Please don't ask me "what time does registration start?" look out for the official email coming soon.. and surely do NOT email me to ask what time to get there... allyuh know Saucy not playing when I say see you all BRIGHT AND EARLY on Sunday morning!!!

Oh gosh, Saucy, I feel yuh disappointment. The last time I was first for anything, I was last! Now you will have to try again like everybody else. Now foreday morning Sunday, yuh will have to wake up when scary crapaud still croaking loud, loud, loud, and chickens eh thinking of crowing anytime soon, and yuh still may endup in twenty or thirty position. A Carnival obession ain't easy for sure ;) Well, at least the little tiger told you jokes and made you laugh. Dais ah nice way to pass the breeze. I hope you get registered for yuh costume yes, oui. Ah doh want you to close down d blog, because yuh vex, nah! We go see how tings go! Laters :)

I can't comment in the chat box from the office, but I just wanted to offer a possible solution to the TLC problem:

First of all, if there is to be any hope of controlling the size of the band, the program needs to be revamped. As far as registration is concerned, "first come, first served" should be the order of the day, because that will enable the organization to keep the band at a certain size, while at the same time allowing first-timers to get a decent shot at getting a costume.

At this point, there is no way to verify who actually played in Tribe every single year, and the current system is vulnerable to a great deal of abuse. Instead, the TLC card should be a type of rewards card, with each cardholder accumulating points for each year they play. Accumulated points can be used as a future currency substitute to put toward costume payments, tickets for Tribe events, products and services from Tribe sponsors, gym memberships, etc.

This solution isn't perfect, and I'm sure some of you will find it is downright ridiculous, but I know you will all agree that some kind of change has to be made. This level of anxiety and stress is just sucking the fun out of Carnival for many people.
