D Krewe Re Do

D Krewe has made some changes to yet another section, this time it is Falls that benefits from an overhaul:

Old Version Frontline

New Version Frontline

Old Version Backline

New Version Backline

And although they chose to go with the ever popular feathered collar that has become a signature piece for Carnival 2009 right after the monokini, the new frontline version is immensely better than that tendril laden umbrella headpiece! I guess withe departure of premiere designer Kyle Matas from the D Krewe fold many changes are now afoot!

i still dont understnad why they are revamping so many sections i mean, surely its making people think they are disorganised that they could not get it right the first time? im all for tweaking and modifying a costume etc but if you feel the whole design needs to be scrapped, there is no hope! im still awaiting this new section "rainbow" to make an appearence too??? you seen it yet saucy???

they are re vamping because of apparant legal issues with the departure of the designer. they needed to revamp them... and honestly i think it was for the best... it has not however affected registration. as a matter of fact from what i understand, registration for falls has increased...

hmmm ok thats cool, but i thought when a designer designs for a band the band purchases the designs and rights to them?? im uprised after this years misshaps the bookings are going so well! i guess people givin them another chance i jus hope they aint mess up again, but by the looks of how long its taken to get all the stuff active on the website i doubt it..........

I for oone like the original Falls designs, because it looked like what it was supposed to represent...

The new feathered collar looks like just another generic section in some band. Bleh.

I agree with you AC. I thought it was quite original. Now it could be any costume, in any old band!

I agree that the 'original' design was more representative of the theme; I had the same thought.
BUT I also think that it is not as appealing as the re-make ... lol

yea guys are right the origional is better jus minus the attena headress but i still feel the back piece is very reminiscent of sonia macks orange from 2006?? can remember the costume name

Le Soliel Brulee...The use a similar effect yes.

On another note though, I would hate to think that I was in a band, fell in love with a costume, registered and then braps so the costume change.

I wonder how they handling the fallout?
