The
Trinidad Newsday is reporting that the following Ministers will be in TRIBE's "Blue Tanger" section; Health Minister Jerry Narace, Energy Minister Conrad Enill and Senator Laurel Lezama. The Prime Minister's wife Hazel Manning will not be playing mas this year, according to the report, however his son Brian Manning is also in the Blue Tanger section. Oh joy for those in that section with all the additional security!
So, let me hazard a guess here at which of Gail Cabaral's three sections will be furthest back; Pheasant will be upfront of course since the president is in that one, Blue Tanger will follow somewhere in the lineup with all these Government Ministers and then Humming Bird will fall in somewhere closer to the back; remember this is not the official line up I am just GUESSING based on the trend for section line up in TRIBE over the years.
Someone asked me last year to predict the lineup in TRIBE for 2009 and I hesitated since I think this year it will be harder to do with so many new designers/section leaders on board. Lana only "designed" one section which is Scarlet Ibis but she will be in Spangled Cotinga. Based on that I am guessing Spangled Cotinga will have to be closest to Red 96.7 FM truck, and since it is arguably the largest section in the band Cotinga might end up around section 5 or 6. I am putting one of Monique's sections as number 1, of course, as she ALWAYS leads the band... my guess is it is a toss up between Bird of Paradise or Kisskidee for that spot.
As for the other sections your guesses are as good as mine, I am eagerly waiting to see which section brings up the rear for 2009.
By the way, how come

Being First aint Nuttin, I was in Moniques section last year and Realised all the action was in the 2nd and 3rd sections..

thank God my section not being invaded w/ govt officials... but ummm Newsday copyrighting that Blue Tanger picture......... SMH
hmmmmm......i am hoping and hoping and hoping that Bird of Paradise will lead the band and NOT Kiskadee! I do not like being at the front... I was in section number 2 in 2k5 and it was fun, but really de action is closer to Red truck. Hmm.. and i'm thinking that since BOP has different versions of their frontline, let dem lead de band lol.
But then if BOP leads the band, and Pheasant is second or third, I don't think those two colours would look blend nicely, since they are both so neutral....

I hate to put Brazilian Macaw in the back but I feel the band should leave off with a big BANG and that section is UBER sexy!!! I think that line up makes sense "colour" coordinating wise...I can't wait mehself to see de true lineup! And if I'm right i deserve to win my costume free! lol

hmph...well that mean my damn section will be in the blasted back...steupssssss...i ent worried tho...i'll be in caged canary, kiskadee and alb anyway...a lone ruby topaz in a sea of canaries, love birds and kiskadees :)
Hmm, well I don't like your line up Caisoqueen lol. Bird of Paradise is a comparatively SMALL section and you are right I think it is too close to Pheasant to be upfront.. I think it will be closer to the back to be honest. I also agree that Hummingbird will be a back section but Pheasant as #1 and Blue Tanger close behind? I dunno.. I think Monique is going to be # 1 as always.. if not I will be quite surprised!
I also feel Monique will lead the band, most likely with Kiskadee, which was much more popular than BOP, and is more vibrant in color. I hope/pray that Cotinga will be at least in the top 5, based on its wild popularity.

Anyways i think that BOP may lead the band. It reminds me of Lady of the Lake from last year's presentation. No major hype then bang it was the first section and looked FANTABULOUS on the road! I felt the same way about BOP as I did about LAL...so if gut feelings go then BOP will be up front :-)

i have been lucky so far that aside from my first year (2006 parrot fish) all my sections have been near the front. i HATE being in the middle or at the back of the band, especially on tuesday, because by the time you realise the band stalled at the savannah and try to cut out for lunch, you meet up mass crowd because the ppl in the front already scope the scene. so i hope caisoqueen is right, because i in honeycreeper!

Hmm I could even put Macaw as 13 and Hummingbird last. But i'm thinking too that if BOP leads the band then Pheasant can be number 4...dat aint too far back for the Prime Minister... then Green Honeycreeper etc etc and then I would put Golden Dove as number 9 in between Spangled and Ibis.
Well i not making any Predictions But it is Sealed In Stone IF the President in BOP then, that section in the top 3 Positions, even the last year of poison he was in the 2nd Section..

I feel sections like Wild Parrot, Scarlet Ibis, Ruby Topaz, Night Owl and Golden Dove should bring up the rear..they were the least popular...

They cyar leave all dem sexy Brazilian Macaws a$$ out so man... :-) They need a lil buffer from the masses.....

Who Knows maybe Blue Tanger and Pheasant may be the top two sections due to the amount of security needed for those people.
