Just to let you know SOME of the fantastic food we'll be offering at the $900 fete....that we ONLY chargin(sic)$650 for...
Souse/Chow Bar (including chicken foot, pig foot, cow skin, fig, pineapple chow...etc.)
Hops Station...Hops and whatever your heart desires....
BBQ Extravaganza (including Wings, Pigtail)
Wild Things - (including Goat manicou styly(sic) and Pork wild hog style and of course Stewed Horse...
We also introduce this year a different type of curry to the fete...mouth watering curry from Bombay Duck as well as a little spanish(sic) flair - Fajitas
Of course there will be ALL the usual foods...Creole meal, Haagen Dazs ice cream for those with a sweet palate and lots more...
Now I won't even go into the drinks....I'll just whisper that Johnny Blue and Moet will be greeting you at the door...along with Baileys, an endless Cocktail Bar and a special sumting from Carib that you must be there to experience. Since there is no champagne lounge we have put champagne in the bars. There will be the usual premium drinks. We ensure food or drink never run out..
Believe me, we won't disappoint. Hope to see you all there!
That has got to be the most unappetizing menu I have seen advertised at an all-inclusive! I don't eat souse or wild meat or pigtail though I am sure some people will be more than happy to indulge in such delicacies! As a matter of fact I am hearing talk that the stewed horse last year was "melt in your mouth good"; no thanks! And just what is hops and "anything your heart desires, suppose I want hops and caviar? These people must be careful how they word their "enticing emails".
I must say, however, that the Johnny Walker Blue and Moet salvaged that menu, I hope they won't only be on offer at the door and curious that they never stated WHAT champagne will be available at all the bars.. sparkling wine is not champagne eh!
It's a good thing this fete is for charity!

What can I say? It's a carnivor's delight! Is there anything healthy on the menu? Sounds like discarded animal parts; feet, wings, tails, skin....I'm sure this turns some people on but not my thing either.
pigtail is bess, but i am biased since us belizeans love pigtail
i just threw up in my mouth...
Black Cherry. I am with you. Skins, tails, feet, etc just doesn't sound all that appetizing, but let me make sure I have this other part straight... HORSE? As in the thing cowboys ride? Or is this some kind of joke? Is that even legal?
I mean I know most countries have government agencies that inspect meats before it can be sold for public consumption... so is horse on the list of government inspected meats in Trinidad? Where do they get it? Do you just walk into Hi-Lo and go to the meat dept?
All I have to say is EWWWWWWWWWWW.
I love souse! It's one of the things I miss SO much living over here. And I love pigtail too. But BBQ pigtail? That doesn't sound right to me. Not sure I fancy the stewed horse though. But I wouldn't mind some hops and geera pork or something. Yummy!!
A lot of the things on this menu were also on the Paramin Parang festival menu..and I didn't hear a flurry of dissatisfied comments then..weird..
Some people call it an animal rights issue, some call it exotic.
How about we chalk this one up to "to each his own" and move on?
How much was the Paramin Parang Festival? Were the menu options optional or all inclusive? For a fete priced at 650.00 (worth 900.00 according to the email) I expect an array of dishes that I can actually eat..souse? pig tail? horse? Nope not for 650.00!!
Entry to Paramin Parang Festival was $50 if I remember correctly.
The wild meat menu had nothing for under $100 a plate. Horse was definitely one of the more expensive dishes.
I reiterate: it's definitely a matter of having an acute palette for these types of delicacies. Clearly the array of food is sligted to "the wild side". However, they probably went on the attendee's response that they have had to the prepared dishes from years past.
They almost sold out too, so the patronage market into which they tapped was seemingly successful.
SO Saucy girl, I dunno. It's how one chooses to spend the $650.
This can't compare to Paramin's Parang. Patamin's menu items were for whoever wanted to buy it, and there were lots of other non-exotic items available. This is an all-inclusive fete where as Sauce said it, the menu should cater to the taste of most if not all patrons. So, unless this is what the vast majority of past patrons indicated they desire as menu options, then that menu sucks major a$$!
Horse??? I not knowingly eating horse for nuttin!
yuh know...if yuh goin to make uneducated comments so at least tief the whole piece from the girl on fb and analyse it properly...
wild meat is a small portion of the menu...unless bake and shark, roti and bbq chicken is wild meat where allyuh come from...not to mention I guess where most ah these bloggers from hagen daaz and fajitas wild too..as well as stewed beef and other creole food....
yuh prefer they serve a puff a sandwich and a slice a cake?
if yuh cyah afford just say and go to yuh cheap fetes...it doh have no room anyway...
anyhow I sure the committee glad fuh the free publicity..
zzz to clarify this was not "stolen" from anyone's facebook it was an EMAIL sent to my inbox ON facebook because I am a member of the group. I don't see how commenting on an email is tantamount to "stealing"!!!
For $650.00 I prefer they serve a more appetizing menu.. roti?? bbq chicken?? bake and shark?? really...I HAVE been to cheaper all-inclusives with a much better spread than that!
And I love how it comes down to who "cannot afford", it is so not even about that! I must be stupid to go to a fete just because I can "afford it" and nothing on the menu appeals to me!! When you want to buss price and claim a fete worth 900.00 but WE getting it for 650.00 doh try to sell patrons hops and roti at sushi and caviar price!!
I guess you are affiliated with the fete in some way, sorry to ruffle your feathers!
to mjsbunny... actually BBQ pigtail is becoming a rel big thing down here.. i have friends that leave diego to go Sangre Grande to buy it and for pork lovers, it is QUITE tasty i heard.. i don't do the pigtail thing so i'm just informing u based on other people's opinions
as for this menu, Bishop's seems to be catering for the older crowd - who tends to be the ones that care for wild meat. Comparing this to ONE fete may not be fair as they cater for a mixed/younger crowd in my opinion and you won't see as many people there looking to eat wild meat as much.
Maybe they should have just created a separate stall that serves this so-called 'array' of wildmeat rather than offer it as the majority of items on the menu i.e. if this is indeed the case, but I stand corrected if it isn't so.
ok..so i just realised i can't assume that is what they're offerin for most of the menu.. because the email starts off saying "SOME of the fantastic food"
