Carnival Connections….

Your eyes meet across the crowded bar at a fete, you smile, he smiles backs. She steals a wine, you oblige before she escapes yet again to turn up at another fete, another time. It must be serendipity that you both are playing mas in the same band… same section. Yet somehow you let the person slip away without a name, a phone number or even an email address… blame it on the alcohol!

If any of you have seen my Facebook status the past few days you must be thinking I have gone insane; yes folks I am looking for a man! Not for myself, of course, but for a Carnival lover who happened to run into a guy she met in 2008; he was blessed then by a sweet wine in a fete, and a memory was created. Fast forward to 2009, she again sees him at various fetes and even on the road for 2009 yet though they chat, dance and keep running into each other, they part ways not even establishing a follow up connection. The hunt is on to find this mystery guy, feel free to “macco” my Facebook profile and check out his photo.

While pursuing this matter on behalf of my friend I was encouraged to write today’s post by others who are also seeking out a Carnival sweetie…..much like the “I SEE YOU” segment in some City Newspapers!

If you will like to make a Carnival Connection send in a photo of the person you would like to get in contact with via email : trinidadcarnivaldiary@gmail.com. Please use "Carnival Connection" as the subject of the email.

I will publish the photo in a subsequent post on the blog. Do not worry your identity will be safe with me and will not be revealed on the blog. If there is a connection all correspondence will be done via email.

So if you are seeking THAT special someone who you just cannot get off your mind now that Carnival is over, don’t be shy send in their photo! Hopefully someone somewhere will see the person and send out the S.O.S. that they are being sought!

*please note that photo used is for illustrative purposes only and masqueraders pictured are NOT looking for a Carnival Connection!

lol @ quiksilver lol, no but seriously it's cute I like it but what you should do is tag his photo in all your friends profile that would surely get you closer..

LOL @ quiksilver. Yeah sometimes you need to take de wine for what it is and just move on...as TI said "Don't be a groupie, keep it movin shawty...you don't know me".

It's a good idea tho, but only if the person whose pic gets posted is a real good sport about it, is actually interested in reconnecting and most importantly, DOESN'T have a crazy significant other who will trip off after seeing a pic of their S.O under a heading that says "Carnival Connection" LMAO....(8)Make ah bacchanal in yuh hoooouusseeee(8)

stalkerish lol..that's funny..but it does happen. I actually met a friend that way. We "noticed" each other at carnival in Trinidad, only to run into each other later that year at Crop Over, and then again in Trinidad the following year. Still nothing more than a hello, a wine, a flirt and so on lol. Only to run into him at home in nyc in a club celebrating our birthday's which turned out to be on the same day! Sounds crazy yes?! No we didn't quite end up dating but I did make a new friend! :)

cute idea but can be perceived the wrong way if the person on the receiving end is not in the mood! hmmmm wonders if I should send u a photo? there is a hottie that plays in Tribe every year that I always see either on the road or at Cascadia distribution & I've always wondered if he's single. We always say hi & stare at each other but have never taken the initiative to take it further to an introduction. his pic is always in the Tribe mag too, lemme go find it yes LOL!!!

I'm loving this quirky idea Saucy! Only on this blog you can find a "carnival e-harmony.com" kinda scene. Kudos to the chick for taking such a bold step (I wish I had that kind of balls).

This could make a really good reality show too! I think a few people may be shaking in their boots. As a friend mine so nicely put it "Carnival is not the time for earnest discussions of monogamy and marriage". You take yuh wine and move one and let the memories linger. I love it though! Saucy, just keep the readers updated on the stories!

First come first serve? Do we send pics and let him decide? ha haaa .. oh yes!
Make a bacchanal in yuh house!!!

How he going to reply if he don't know which girl he wine on looking for him now? He need to see who looking for him.

hehe... love the disclaimer.

Well, Trini in Toronto, hopefully the man remembers which woman girl he was posing up with in the picture...

But, let us say the gentleman had a lot to drink and doesn't remember all that, one would hope that he would know by the description she gave of herself and the fete/road situation.

If not, the woman might have to give her name (if names were exchanged) and--perhaps--her photo under some less public conditions.

And if all that fails...I suppose said woman would have to believe she was not memorable enough to the man to pursue this course of action.

Not so?

LMAO @ Buuble...was wondering why I couldn't find you. Now I know all I had to do was look up! LOLOLOL
