Gems and face/body painting were a big hit this Carnival season when it came to makeup .
I even saw many ladies even copying the one eyed look that was done for TRIBE's launch and website .
It was also refreshing to see that the guys got into primping for Carnival as well with body painting and even face paint.
While some makeup looks were outstanding, subtly complimentary or creative others were quite unique, to say the least!

I know who you mean! Unfortunately I could not find a closeup shot of her on triniscene. She made it in the TRIBE magazine though.
Wow...some were beautiful...some were EXTREME overkill! Less is more eh!
Oh and Trini Orisha Girl...you looked absolutely stunning!!!!!
absolute Gorgeous . Some was a little over done but that's everyone owns creativity .I must confess i had a gem over dose. :) wonderful the evolution of carnival hope to see much more outrageous make up in 2010.
Awwww thank you Caiso Queen! :)
Agreed ms.rene. I for one have never agreed that one could buy mas in a box. Mas IS what one creates. Some efforts are misses for sure, based on a "consensus" aesthetic. But oh the wonderful surprises when one goes of in a direction quite never anticipated and create a new amazing "standard." Mas is our own individual creativity. Live it! :)
Kudos to the males who understand this. North American Plains Indian mas is a perennial favorite for men. Why? Becuase painting yuh face and body is a big part of it!
The men looked too cute:)
Some of these are great. I have never been able to wear all that, cause at some point throughout the day I will forget and wipe my face and there goes all the work.
