The Element's review today reminded me that I had glimpsed the rest stop pampering put forward by the band for their masqueraders on Triniscene and that I had made a mental note to comment on it; see photos below:
Now these are the amenities you can offer when the band is a smaller size! Imagine having 5000 people wanting massages and makeup done during a lunch stop! Anyway I am lobbying that this is a pretty cool idea and if you cannot do it for the 5000 masqueraders then why not having something special done for the Frontliners? Just a thought!

Nice..But personally i don't need all that confusion while I'm playing mas or resting ... IP had that massage thing back at the stadium but I was too vex and tired to take part in it. Its a nice touch though!

I'd play with them (If I ever make it to Trinidad) just for the amenities... however I have come to fall in love with TRIBE's costumes although I have never played mas in Trinidad.
Oh and ah couldda sure do with a nice foot massage Carnival Tues!

No Ms Hershey I said it was a cool idea and if it is not logistically possible to do it for 5000 people how about doing it for the people who pay extra for their costume and get no EXTRA amenities, ie frontliners?
DQ by halfway Monday i could have done with a foot massage...lol...i find it so funny how Mr. in the last pic Loll Off!! haha.....
I don't understand why playing mas means having someone do massages and re-touching your make-up...I think this is a little too much and we wonder why the prices for our costumes are increasing. Just give me my music, drinks, and food and I'm good to go...I don't even need a we we truck. I'm fine with pissing by a tree or parked car.
Saucy just playing devils advocate here. But Isn't the nicer costume (i.e. more beads,more feathers...) already an extra amenity for front-liners?

I must say elements did great ,but they need to improve on there costumes , .This very good treat ment for the money we forking out but stll the cotumes should be better . I hope spice take note and do something like this i will be so happy :)
lol trini it would be an extra if I didn't have to fork out more money for it! LOL some FLs this year were almost double the price of some backlines.
Everybody know the vibe in TRIBE is nice but if Spice offered something like this next year they will definitely be getting my money! I can't wait to see TRIBE's presentation for next year but I'm also anxious to see what Spice will have to offer. Elements has to work on their costume designs.

I wear 5 inch heels all d time wit no problems and from d time i put on a pair of sneakers, 5 min later i ready to kick it off, a massage would of do me good on monday! lol.

I agree.....anything extra yall want to give me...I will gladly take it....massage,,,Make-up touch ups,,,foot rub...by all means..bring it on...the only reason I dont touch up my make up during the day is because I find it too much hassle to carry around, but if the band I playing with providing it at no extra charge...A A!!

Kim, I see absolutely no point in these things, and again, this is only me. Yes I know costume prices will raise regardless, but why do we need masages when playing mas. For all the years I've played mas, I look forward to limping and swollen feet, its the pain we go through in order to play we mas, but if you take that away, then we might was well be walking in a street pagent! I wish it can get back to the foundation and stop trying to upscale carnival when its not needed. Damn, I wonder what these bands will offer next...I'm afraid to find out.

If it is u need all that then is better u take yuh money and fly to another island for carnival weekend and get pampered...In my book dat is not "playing mas" for me its jumping and having a good time all day into night..and when the music shut off yuh foot hurting too bad...LOL
Frontliners are nothing special anymore, it's all about INDIVIDUALISM!
These extra perks are great, maybe for a first timer...but hey, I could be wrong.
Great idea though for a small band.

Oh Gad oye...dey does really say yuh cah satisfy a trini nah. A mas band do something good for dey masqueraders and alyuh criticizin that too? Alyuh good oui! If u want the blistered feet and d back pain after Carnival..is very simple..JUST DOH GO 4 D MASSAGE! Geez and ages. We could complain...lol

I think reapplication of makeup for the Individuals during a lunch stop is a great idea :)
Ah tryin tuh understand de logistics of dat massage ting ... when exactly yuh does get de massage ... at de lunch break? .... and if so ... when do you eat? .... and how much masseuse it have tuh give people massage .... is it like one fuh each section of de band ... cuz if yuh advertise dat masqueraders could get massage ... den each person should be able tuh get one .... and please ... realistically ... how possible is that ... how many masqueraders does actually avail of dat service ... or can ... wit de limited time and resources?? .... and why would you want a massage on yuh dutty sweaty body .... if yuh cyah handle de heat ... stay out de kitchen .... yuh cyah play mas an' fraid powder .... STEUPS .... dat massage ting is real dotishness!!!
