TRIBE Live Launch, Feedback Needed

As I said before I was unable to view the live, streaming video of TRIBE's launch that was provided by Triniscene on Sunday morning. My position was at the stage taking photos so I only heard feedback from some of the bloggers who viewed the launch from the comfort of their homes.

There were some technical difficulties that was no fault of TRIBE or Triniscene, the loss of lights on stage was due to failure of a power generator and was not a special effect! I too was left wondering why the lights were switched off in the middle of costumes being presented and was informed of this glitch after the fact.

So, since I was not there to see the live stream myself, what are your thoughts on going live? Did you enjoy the show? Was the video able to load and run properly on your system? Did the cameras provide all the right angles? Is this something you would like to see more of for other band launches in future? What would you change or do differently if there was another streaming video of a band launch? And overall were you impressed with the live stream or not?

Leave me a comment!

Saucy,
I was about to do a review on my blog about the live feed. (Seeing as I didn’t go to the launch and couldn’t review the costumes). I was initially skeptical about the whole live feed thing.

I used my laptop and accessed the live feed via Blink Broadband wireless. My feed was good. It was a tad bit grainy at times and other than the stage going dark (which was not because of the feed) I found that overall it was a great idea.

I loved the idea of being home in my pj’s, sipping on my Coke on the Rocks while watching the launch.
I hope the live feeds continue at least for the next big band Island People.
Kudos to Triniscene and Trinidad Carnival Diary for this fabulous initiative! :)

I enjoyed the live feed. I had no problems with the streaming, and the website worked seamlessly. All the glitches happened at the launch, not on the website.
So KUDOS to Triniscene.
I hope more bands consider online band launch streams in the future. It's a great option for us overseas residents.

Hey Afro Chic I still look forward to your feedback and critique on your blog. You are a riot, girl.

The live stream provided better quality than I expected even when I went full screen. What made it an amazing experience was having the chat box next to the video for instant reactions. It was interactivity at its best.

Good point there Tanu re: the cbox. That instant feedback was excellent though just a TAD bit overwhelming at times.

Thanks Carnivalcocoa, but I like to review when I was in the place taking in the vibes and ting :)

Live feed was fine for me even though the hotel I was staying in had horrible system and the buffering was wack! not the stream's fault.

I wish for you to install a troll detection and deletion button next time. Oh yeah, and Someone spilled an entire glass of Haterade all over my new blouse! steups!

oh and I love the chat feature even though the chat went so fast on a account of so many people chatting at once. Whoa Nelly!

Saucy, i think the live stream was a fantastic idea. It allowed those of us you didn't make it to indeed see the costumes first hand. Yes...the lights were an issue and even though cameras were flashing a million times it was hard to see the costumes.

I do recommend that this continues to happen. It was real time and everything and even though there were lots of people viewing, the stream was great and it didn't stop or buffer at all. The only thing is that i wish the wide screen viewing would be a bit clearer.

Hope my comment is useful :)

I am overseas and I this is the first time I'm writing a comment since reading this blog daily for a while. I was estatic to be able to see the band launching live I think tribe and triniscene did took it to another level for us that could not attend, the cameras gave a some good angles so you can see the beauty of the costumes, the stream was great I used my laptop and was there was not a glitch for me I would love to see more live band launchings.

LOVED the live feed. I was maccoing it on my work computer, and I think the IT devils there gave some trouble, but it eventually worked, and when it did the quality was great. It was fabulous being able to see the costumes in motion for those of us who are abroad.

Please bring it on for more bands!

Oh, and can Triniscene please put the video up on their website again for more carnival costume gawping pleasure? :D

This is a great initiative. You guys are doing a wonderful job.

A question for Krissiegirl , what resolution you are running on ur screen and what speed is your connection?

About the Haterade - lol yeah that was kinnah dread did not know what to do , will investigate an option to vote a user off that other chat users can ban them

Thanks for all the positive responses! WE WILL BE DOING MORE!
