And Then There Was Kutchela

Island People's launch of Kutchela has been the best presentation of the season, with set decor, choreography and the costumes tying the theme together; even the opening Indian Dance routine was very well received by the crowd on hand.

I am really liking most of the costumes, if only for the fact that they are not only refreshingly different but they stick to the theme. There are some sections that I like more than others, some do not appeal to my personal taste but overall I and the crowd here tonight appreciated the show with the sections Mudra, Bindi, Chandsutarie , Taal and Kalpana as crowd favourites. I see Sonia Mack selling out in a hot minute, I absolutely love her section! And the males have LOTS of choice for great looking costumes in Kutchela.

Saucy, you good! You have names and all lol? Right now I remember 2 names and I have no idea which costumes match those 2 names lol. I'll have to rely on your list :)

I don't get the purpose of the two stage extensions when half of the models didn't use them. I was standing on the left and I am yet to see most of the male and FL costumes up close.

Thanks for the pics

The group shot you have at the media launch is beautiful and colourful and the most carnival looking group of costumes I have seen for a while. (obv talking bikini mas)

...sighs ... as I look at a pic of my costume

Oh and also, I always HATE black for carnival ... but I have never ever seen a black costume look so good as IP's! Wow!

I would like to say a job WELL DONE to IP, i am actually impressed with not only most of your female costumes, but you have me liking the male ones as well.... finally a big band that put SOME though into the men's costumes.... IP you took a gamble with this presentation but kudos to you guys.

wrt to redwhite and black, i back you up on your last comment about black costumes.... in saucy's first look post last night it was that black costume that appealed to me

Have to say it was well worth the wait
I have been pleasantly surprised by what i saw, even based on my reservations about the feathered costumes in the band.

there is more than one sexy sari which is cool

but for me the male costumes took it. the male costumes sold the band for me totally. i like every single one of them, you could see it was well thought out...even the jhandi like standard in the hand...really a nice touch.

congrats to the IP design team, lets hope your logistical nightmares can be sorted out so that people can truly appreciate what they have purchased.
