TRIBE Registration Update

Why does this remind me of registration in 2005?

Dear Masquerader,

We have had thousands of hits in the first few minutes of registration, many of these being simultaneous registration attempts in certains sections. This has resulted in these sections being oversubscribed.

We are presently adjusting the allocations while also making the technical changes to the system to prevent a similar occurence.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience at this time.

In-House registration is now closed. Please check the website at 6pm today for further online registration information.

TRIBE Management

Well last I checked only Threads of Morocco Male was showing as available online, but who knows what will happen after the"duplicate" processing have been updated. Hopefully online registration will resume with secitons open, though I really am getting a De Ja Vu of 2005.. after the counting TRIBE was sold out!

I paitently await news at 6PM!

STEUPS!!!!
I'm beyond disappointed in TRIBE. Not only for switching the game at the last minute, but for being so out of tune with their "customers" that they not anticipate how this was going to go down.
I used to give TRIBE 2 snaps for being business minded, but this is unacceptable.

Sigh! I doe even noe where to begin.

After waiting for over 3 hours for registration to begin since TRIBE systems were down. Hearing rumors that my 1st choice was already sold out. Watching while ppl in-house tried online and got through. While within the 1st batch of 5 waiting in front of TRIBE staff for the system to be back up. Not to mention the young lady who was there 1st at 5.15AM was skipped by some guy by TRIBE staff AFTER the nbrs were distributed. Wha kinda madness goin on here?

I got my 1st choice, Louann however the only other person registering for louann in that batch got the last costume. Does this mean that only 2 costumes in Mystery of Louann was left for in-house registration. Wha kinda bleep bleep is dat?

I was there since 6AM and i am very very disappointed with TRIBE dis year. After i always tried to give them the benefit of the doubt that they try to assist their masqueraders as best as possible. They could not leave 20 costumes for In-house registration? Only 2 avail? TWO? My heart goes out to the other fellow early birds who arrived shortly after me and not get into their section of choice. How could a batch of 5 PPL who registered for themselves sell out a section?

There are soo many more things i could address in this message, however i am very tired so maybe later.

Bottom line.

VERY DISAPPOINTED TRIBE.

i was number 4 in line and therefore, numbers 1 - 4 did not register for Loulan costumes. 5 & 6 wanted Loulan. Maybe the guy who skipped number 1 who arrived at 5:15am took some. But that means less than 10 if so much were available. That update they sent where they state "All sections will be available" does not really constitute if you on put 10 in.

Tribe needs to think long term, that is not lasting say next 5 years but lasting to pass this business on to their children. This is unacceptable. I do not mind pre-registration or going early to get the costume i want but when you are the 1st say 15 persons and there for 6 hours plus you should be guaranteed your first choice. That means ensuring 40 costumes made available to in house people not less than 10....

MAybe if Tribe thinks that they can pre-register the entire band, let's not keep up this facade. Do that pre-register the entire band and let us know exactly where we stand. Do not make us line up for hours from wee hours in the morning to walk in there and insult us by have 2 to 10 costumes in a section available.

Sorry to my fellow early birds who didnt get their section of choice

How does an entire section have so few spots avaliable at the start of registration, maybe it is every Tom Dick and Harry who knows somebody in Tribe is able to pre register.

I think that TRIBE also needs to limit the number of people you can register in-house. The limit is five per person, isn't it (including yourself). So two people can take ten costumes in one section?

There also needs to be some consideration for overseas masqueraders. People in Trinidad should NOT be allowed to register on-line since it is blatantly unfair to those of us who cannot make it to Cascadia. If you live along the east/west corridor, you should HAVE to get your lazy so and so down to Cascadia. But by registering online, you're eating into the online inventory that should be available for those of us overseas.

If I was home, I would be so excited to get down there, with all my mates, some books and snacks. That's half the adventure!

BUT we also can't have it both ways. Every year we complain that the band is too big. So my assumption is that TRIBE are trying to cut down the numbers by simply having less costumes available. They have over four thousand TLC holders, and it will stand to reason that some of them may not always get in.

I for one do hope that this means that the band will be smaller next year and will have room to manoeuvre on the road.

TRIBE will NEVER be able to please everybody. I have never had an issue with registration, but then again I don't mess around and am ready to go from before the gunshot is fired!

I think it's difficult to say that online registration should only be for overseas, as that probably puts some locals at a disadvantage, but TRIBE needs to update their website server to be able to handle the kind of traffic that comes through at the start of registration.

Other than that, I don't know what to say other than that I'm not surprised. The interest in playing with TRIBE is huge, the numbers of people with TLCs are in the thousands, do people really expect that costumes in the more sought after sections will stick around for more a few seconds at most? It's like trying to buy tickets for those MJ concerts - they sold out as soon as they were released. High demand...

As for the Mystery of Loulan hearsay, I know someone who got 4 people into the section in house, including one frontline, and it wasn't the fella who got skipped to the front of the queue, so the talk about there being only 10 costumes can't be completely true. I also know at least 2 people who got their frontlines registering online. So I think you just had to be very quick off the draw.

Now I think it might be time to start compiling a roll call! Because I have my corschume and I am excited for mas 2010! :D

I totally agree that online reg needs to be overseas only.

Even if it means making the online inventory a little less.

It does not put local reg at a disadvantage as is quite obvious by the (apparant) mess that occured online. If anything local reg might be better with more inventory, while online reg will have less traffic.

If I was at Cascadia from hours in the morning and someone sat next to me on their laptop registering successfully, I would go MAD! That aint right!

Anyway, I was lucky to get my costume of choice online, but it went down before my bf could register and he got nothing. (And he is a total foreigner with TLC who has played with Tribe from the beginning! Now that aint right either!)

PRESSHA!
