Pulse 8 Website is Up

Pulse 8's website is up, just in time for registration which begins in house at their mas camp today; you can also register online. For a lack of feathers and beads I think the prices are HOT!

My benchmark frontline of Comparison is TRIBE's Mystery of Loulan and both of the frontlines on offer with Pulse 8, Waikiki and Paradise Cove are $5800.00... for plastic flora and fish!

Check them out yourself at their website.

I am certainly NOT seeing that those frontlines are worth it! Esp the one that butcher the poor plastic flying fish!

sad... I am starting to think that they just calling price because its called "FRONTLINE". I do not see any Plumage or intricate craftsmanship that would justify those prices. Maybe if the bra and waistband from Paradise Cove were hand beaded by Donatella Versace at her Italian villa lol... let me stop!

Pulse 8 costumes for the "binkini mas" is ORIGINAL. At last!!! Port-of-Spain will view costumes vibrant and different. All comptetitors that have launch before Pulse 8 and after can not compete with the originality of this bikini mas. Absolutely splendid. Absolutely!!!

Daniel you eh see Island People, D'Krewe or Ronnie & Caro costumes? Now THAT is originality when it comes to bikini mas. Plastic plants + Grass skirts = kiddies carnival 1989.

Hmm....in all honesty, in sticking with theme I guess they did a good job. Uhmm...Tahitian Black Pearl and Maui aren't that bad but still....the others...I don't know. Every band have their people.

ppl really need to realise that they're hardly paying for a "costume" when they pay those exorbitant prices...cuz the price of that "costume" is half of dat..ur paying for the so-called "all-inclusiveness" of the band..so ppl need to cut the bs about if the costume looks crappy or not..cuz they all do..just different yrs is different versions of it..If one band could have sky-high prices and nobody complains about it, who are they to try to make some profit too?

yeah feffyz, people have realized that long time, we not stupid, we all know to do maths right? Pulse 8 is not tribe however so I wish them luck when they have costumes prices more than the most popular band in Trinidad and they barely made it on the road this year.I will choose pretty costume in most popular band over plastic plant in not so popular band for less money, Alex!

WOW tahitian black pearl is more expensive than my Tribe costume!! and the headpiece looks like it may have been made from old Christmas decorations. And some of their male costumes are really expensive too!

Pulse 8 'barely made it onto the road' this year? I thought they had a pretty sizeable turnout. I hear good things about them every year, so I think that is a pretty stupid statement to make, since I'm sure they'll be most present on the road...unlike other bands I will not name.

That is all I will say, before I get myself in trouble again! ;)

msjbunny meg cheekes was worried about numbers last year, she even reduced the size of the band because sales were very slow, I dunno how many people were in pulse 8 but the numbers were way below what was expected. For 2010 I know for a fact they were not even sure to return as a band. Stupid is as stupid does.

hmmmm. That plastic is just vile! But I guess like anything, it's worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.

But as far as price goes, surely Tribe is in a better position to have a lower FL all inclusive price because of bulk buying, and also my guess is that they have a lot more FLs per section than most
bands?

Also, (and do correct me if I am wrong as I have never done FL), to me Tribe's FL product I see on the road always seems less than the launch and website pics? Could that be a reason for the pricing as well or does this happen in all bands?

And lastly, is it just me, or is Loulan's headpiece missing feathers or framework or something to make it balanced? The videos I saw on Triniscene all looked as though the headpieces were leaning forward. It seemed to me that the the focus was on big and nothing else. Again, could this be a reason for the apparent "reasonable" pricing of this section in particular?

Just a few thoughts knowing very well I could be wrong. Apologies for the length!

LOL@ plastic flora and fish!!! tears!

I think it looks like 'less' because some people just don't wear all the pieces of the costume. But in my FL experience with TRIBE (most notably this year), the costume has more than met my expectations.

I had fears that the Pheasant FL would look a lot less 'full' than it did on the website. But it was just as I expected and I was super pleased with it.

Great news for me for 2010 then :)

Paradise Cove FL is now $4995.00.
They probably heard you Saucy and dropped the price.
But still that's not good enough. That costume CANNOT touch D'Krewe's Kindred Spirit FL. Now THAT is a costume.
If I had a $1000 US budget for a costume, I would glady pay for that craftmanship (wire bending and essembly of the frame) and the fabric artwork. But for huge heap of plastic palms and flowers , err ...no.
