Legacy Masala ..first look

So first of all I would like to thank the blogger who sent me these photos from Legacy's launch of Masala, which took place on Saturday night. The young lady who got these shots said she had to "fight the paparazzi" for photos and apologised for the quality. I think grainy shots or not it is more than enough for me to ask where is the Masala?

From the photos I swear these are the most generic looking costumes Legacy has ever produced, at least with this year's presentation they threw in some Chinese umbrellas and fans. Lets hope the rest of the costumes attempt to convey something akin to what has been described on their Facebook Group Page:
MASALA - LEGACY 2010 CARNIVAL PRESENTATION

Eye-catching!

Designers worked at making their mark on MASALA’S multi-plane visual effects, seamlessly
integrating culture with photographic imagery; supporting the overall message of this
miraculously, exciting presentation.

This edition is seen to be substantially dissimilar but yet in line with Legacy’s vast creative molds
with the main focus being “visual enjoyment”. the perception and physical traits of Legacy’s head
Big Mike.

Pleasing, beautiful, sexual attractive, emotional symmetry, cute, are just some of the individual statements used to describe “MASALA”.

What's new with Big Mike? Same ish different day. The hunky male models are more in tune with the Masala/Indian theme than the ladies. *sigh*

I wasn't moved to take a single pic and kept asking myself where was the Masala??? There were 3 or 4 costumes from what I remember that actually had an Indian feel. I guess when the site is launched we'll get to see them.

Three of the four male costumes that were displayed actually suit the theme. I wasn't sure about the lime green number though lol.

This is ridiculous! There comes a time in life when people are bored and or tired, which definitely includes a Trindad carnival band organization, to quit and take a rest, imho. I feel rel sorry for the diehard followers of the two headed hydra that was once Legend.

This is why some ppl think there is no creativity in bikini mas! Alot of bands just slapped a name on a panty and bra.

Maybe the theme is in the name of the costume and not the design!

Isn't Legacy's theme Masala...which everybody knows is a hindi term used to describe a mixture of spices used in South Asian cuisines...South Asian referring to India, Bangladesh & Pakistan. Where does the dragon come in...did they get lost on the Spice Route or Silk Road or is Masala Chinese for Kuchela...cause i confused. i swear i saw a bootleg version of Kwan Yin (the pink & purple) from Poison 2k5. Even with the inclusion of fabric...the costumes don't scream masala or India...and i thought IP was going to get competition...ah well...sigh! Buuuutttt Waaaaiit... aint that de same indian dancers that was in IP launch?...Ah blogging as i go through the pics...and i cyah take it no more...so if anybody sees a costume that screams india/masala..holla...cause i tired...lol
