Spice has teamed up with both First Citizen's Bank (FCB) and Hilton Trinidad & Conference Centre to bring Spice Masqueraders a special discount.
In addition to being able to use your FCB credit card points towards payments on your Spice costume, all Spice masqueraders also get 40% discount on room rates at the Hilton Trinidad.

Can I redeem my Bank of America points too, or maybe my frequent flyer miles?? It is very good discount on hotel accomodations for the people playing Spice. This is a good example of just how corporate our mas has become. Somewhere along the way we've abandoned the core of carnival, the back of which it was built. Granted, the perks are good in playing the larger corporate bands, but is it the perks and the elaborate launches and fetes, and costumes that entice us, or are we abandoning the private local designer of which mas was built to show that we have become more advanced to escape the label of being "primative"
This appears to be a gimmick. What happened to the 1200 masqueraders??
I find they are a day late and dollar short. This may be a good deal for people who are making last minute plans, but with carnival a few short months away, most people have scheduled their accommodations already.

Word on de street is that they doh even have 200 sign ups yet. Based on their original claim of having over 1000 sign-ups back in September the band should be fully sold out by now. Yet as far as I aware they do not even have one sold out section yet. Saucy mark what I say eh. This band in serious money problems and might not even come off in 2010. Doh say I did not say so eh.
As Trini said definately a day late and a dollar short. If they wanted to show a little customer appreciation, they should have offered this from the start. This is a sign of their band struggling financially, so they whipped up a quick ploy to entice us and make it seem like they are rewarding the loyal player. I believe most people are intelligent enough to see it for what it is.
