This is not boding well for the "professionalism" of our Soca Artistes!
Sources have reported to The Sauce that Fay Ann Lyons was a no show at Upscale Crowds "Dirty Sexy Soca" held at S.O.B, Manhattan last night. According to the story reaching me, it is alleged that Mrs Lyons management signed a contract but waiting until the night of the event to demand more money. I was also told that Mrs Lyons was also scheduled to perform at another event in New Jersey however she was a no show!

To the fans
As Fay-Ann’s manager, first and foremost we would like to apologies because she will not be appearing or performing at SOB’s tonight as advertised (Saturday 24th April). This decision has been made due to communication problems between the booking agent, management and the promoter. Fay-Ann was initially confirmed to attend SOB’s as a ‘host’. However, it has been brought to our attention that some fans have been informed there will be a full live performance. We feel that the lack of communication between the parties involved puts Fay-Ann in a predicament because it contradicts the terms of the initial agreement and she will subsequently not be attending to avoid further confusion.
Ian Pantin
Mr. Manager, when did Fay-Ann become Auntie Kay, huh?
Yeah ah set ah BS. Is she Errol Fabien? Who really will hire Fay Ann to host? I am interested in what the terms of the contract says because once there is a written contract there can be no miscommunication.
Or is Ian Pantin saying that there is no contract?
And then people wonder why I only pay my money to go see Machel. At least he charge his big price up front so that there are no "miscommunication".
And the fact that 2 different promoters have the same story makes me give Fayann and her camp all kinds of "side eye"
Maybe she was busy recording another song for the PNM....
That PNM song isnt her. It's her sister Terri Lyons.
As someone who regularly deals with and books act, it is very very common for promoters to want an act to show up but cannot pay for a performance. What they will do to compensate is pay a "hosting" fee and then turn around and promote it as the artist is performing.
I have been to plenty events where a person comes and after being begged will sing 2-3 lines from a song or guest sing on another cheaper artist's set for a song and a half.
One cannot and should not expect her to sing for way below her market price because a promoter duped the crowd. I back Ms. Lyons on this one. She didn't want to be seen in the joint and not perform.
Because as the comments to this post shows, the fans will be more quick to blame the artist before blaming the party organizers or event management team.
