When Outlish Magazine (a relatively new online based magazine) first approached me about doing an interview for their website I was flattered that they even found my blog interesting enough to be featured. Then when I finally got the list of questions for the interview it took me a week to answer them all as candidly as I could, but the most intimidating part of it all was that they wanted a photograph to accompany the article! How does one photograph someone who does not want to be identified?
In the end Mark Lyndersay of Lyndersay Digital did a pretty good job of photographing me "anonymously". Yes that IS me and I really was in the middle of a BBM (blackberry messenger) conversation with Carnival Jumbie during the photoshoot, hilarious!

I like it I like it saucy is now the subjet !!
Great read Saucy!
The simplicity of your personal carnival obsession is really inspiring. And the point is you are not obligated to any band or country to state a "favorable" review.
I am always biased to T&T (because I see the great potential of a quite small country where I was born), and my comments will be skewed to the art and artistry of Trinidad (and Tobago). Everything is not about money and economic gain, less we lose our souls and beautiessense callaloo (I am American, but my Trini childhood is indelible). Everyday, I look forward to taking a quick read of your blog. And truth be told, if not for your almost casual post of an announcement I would have missed a new revelation for me IN NYC: Etienne Charles (Trini born and bred, making big waves in the Jazz world.)
The quote you chose had me thinking rel hard. Yes, we could crumble from hard criticisms especially from someone with a sharp tongue and a quick mind. But I know, if the points are offered to edify and encourage growth, there are serious gains to be made. Praise is nice for sure, but criticism is much more complex.
Much blessings to you, for many, many, many years ahead. I can say with a pretty good certainty that is you in that picture :)
lolololol aight nah i get the hint "when i post". I go stop being so lazy. It was just easier to let you know my info and let you write the article lol.
Excellent article. I've been reading this blog since 2007 and still check it every single day. Keep up the great work!
Saucy for Minister of Carnival!!!
I second that nomination AC!
To add to AC's comment, it would be nice if Saucy was the Minister of Arts and Multiculturalism for real. She had some very salient points.
Good article.
