After toying around with the idea of getting custom made footwear and thinking that if I have to collect my boots on Carnival Saturday or if they fall apart on the road I would not be happy, I broke down and bought a pair of boots that just called my name!
The heel is 3 inches and though I do not have them to try for comfort as yet, my Tuesday boots this year the heel was 2.5 inches and those were very comfortable. I also measured my boots from this year with a pair of wedge sandals I have that are 3 inches and the difference in height felt negligible, so here is hoping I can wear 3 inches ALL day. In any event I will be breaking them in before I pass them on to Afro Chic to work her magic, I just love these boots!

I am seeing a trend in embellished boots, over the knee boots and platform wedges for Carnival 2011! Have you got you boots yet, what is your style?

Wow!! Those are some fierce boots!! I think u should be able to last all day with them for two reasons: #1 they are wedges, which are almost like walking in high flats LOL and #2 with all de alco & soca in yuh head u might feel like yuh chipping on air LMAO!!! Yuh might only feel the effects AFTER de fact but as bad as dem boots are I think it would be well worth it!!
I found some nice people ankle boots to go with my R&C Bird Flu costume. No heel for me though cuz de way I does get on ah don't want tuh have tuh worry about bussin' meh ass on de road LOL!!!!
Really cute boots (should I guess Saucy is playing in Pele? lol) - I toyed with the idea of wedges but thought maybe for the first time in boots, I'd go completely flat...and got some "fur"-lined ones that look authentically gladiator-y (i been using "Spartacus: blood and sand") as inspiration.
super cute!! but wait u revealed ur section or are u teasing us?? hmm
still haven't found a shade of blue or green boots to go with vega, another problem is size. I hav big feet :(
i rocking ah creation from Jomo ! talk done
and if allyuh eh realise by now saucy does like to throw off ppl in their attempts to guess her section ... lmao
Mine this year were 3 (or was it 3.5...) as well, and if you discount the platform bit of the sole it makes the actual raise of the heel less. They were super comfy and I loved having the look of heels without the hurt of them...the only time my feet started complaining was 7pm Tuesday night. I used the insoles designed for boots...the ones that taper off, but also added a ball of foot insert as I felt that may have been an area of concern (that plus I find the full insoles take up too much space in the boots) and they were heaven!
wow I am JUST making a blog about boots (for the Bigfoot folks like me though lol)...I like knee highs or below because my thighs...smh. I don't think the boots can manage dem. lol So no thigh highs. Plus it look a little Pretty Woman-ish to be strolling around in brassiere and panty basically plus some thigh high boots. Maybe is me and I just didn't see the right girl modelling that combo yet?
Got my boots and its ready to be mailed to TnT for decorating *cough cough AC coough cough*
Mine is flat, square front knee high boots :)
You'll do just great! I tested mine out for Miami Carnival. I survived. LOL!
u should be fine :)
my boots this year were 4 inch wedges with a 1 inch platform in front and i just made sure i had not only regular insoles and a ball of foot insert, but also that at lunch i took them off to stretch my feet out and have them relax a lil bit. my feet were great until like that night but i think it was more general fatigue from standing most of the day,i didnt feel like my feet were going to fall off.
